Designer Syd Mead served as a special visual consultant on TRON.
Sydney Jay Mead was born July 18th 1933. He has worked on a number
of movies including, Blade Runner, Star Trek, 2010 and Aliens to
name just a few. He began work with Steven Lisberger on Tron in
1980. His incredible imagination gave us things like "Sark's
carrier: tanks, light cycle; the CPU; Sark's camp; various scenic
sets and graphics; title graphic and alpha numeric "TRON" typeface*
" There is no doubt that without Mr. Mead, Tron would not be what it
is.
Currently, Mead is redesigning the Lightcycle for the TRON 2.0 game
by Monolith, due out in 2003.
