Well don't forget its a demo version here. And they are still working on the other things for the actual game itself. This is a tastes of whats to come in the actual game itself.

VROOOOOOOOOMMMM!!!

To compute or not to compute that is the question at hand. Tis nobler to compile in C++ or in TASM.

That raises more questions.

Like: What will change in the full version? Or the "Full demo", if that ever happens? Will there be less A.I evilness (Grr *crashes yet again*)? Will that stupid delay between turns in the lightcycle game be resolved? And more importantly, will they ever release a dedicated server app? Time, and money, will tell.

P.S
Is the dev team taking note of what we're talking about on this board, or not? I.E, can we make suggestions on this board and they'll notice?

More thoughts on PA.

on Thursday, July, 03, 2003 6:15 PM
I don't really know why this is a big deal. People are entitled to their own opinion, however flawed you may consider it to be. I mean, imagine if we hit the roof like this in real life everytime somebody disagreed on something?! We'd be hitting each other with chairs all the time! It'd be like the world's biggest Jerry Springer episode or something. and furthermore, I will continue to read PA. Hey, just because They're being retarded about one thing doesn't make them a retard in all things.

Quicksilver,

to answer your question, we read the forums every day. you can make suggestions all you like and we will see them. Taking action on them is a different story, but we will definitely see them. Can't tell you much more than that.

Honestly, it looks more like they want attention.

Hu... I never saw the meta tag. Guess I was wrong then about them makeing a mistake. It's just wierd though, cause reading the way they speak kinda conflicts with that. Oh well.

If anyone wants to read PA that's alright with me. I hope I haven't come across as an all out Penny Arcade hater. I just wish Tycho would of explained a few things instead of just saying it's "shit".

Confucious say... It's better to tell an artist why you don't like his painting then telling him it looks like shit. Think about it...

Agreed. I used to like their webcomic until it started on this vicious cycle of "the game sucks" "I like the game!" I'm so tired of it and it's not terribly ethnical either. They don't even justify their reasoning.
Fine, if they want to think that. Their problem.
And my feeling is that webcomics shouldn't be a personal forum for griping/attacking games. :/ I don't even do that with mine and I don't see other webcomics doing that.
Some rolemodels. :P

But hey, I still like the good work that you and the team's doing, DaveTron! Keep it up!

(I didn't notice the thing about the lightcycle wheels not moving? O_o I was too busy trying not to get killed. )

Actually you got it backwards, she gribes about Apple and Microsoft and praises C64.

Ha ha ha. Nothing wrong with that.

Well there could be a lot of things. Tighter coding on the A.I. Maybe a little less evilness from them or a little bit more depends on which way you look at it.. Better response time when you hit the keys for turning. finer turning of the engines that is being used. Better memory usage, wider range of video cards. (I know its meant for the NVida chipset. Just giving examples here and there.) Overall more chances if the coding was better for an audience that had even slower machines like myself here. (PII -266 tweaked to a 275 as an example.) There are probably more areas in that game that could be tweak and fixes that it'll be a matter of time to get the patches out for the demo and for the actual game. Don't forget its easy to say oh you need this and that updated. Or is not working. Its harder to find out where to start looking for it. When there is no error code for it. Then when you get like a BSOD or a error message that comes up mentioned where the fault is at. Not to sound like I'm going to og down your throat. Just to give you an idea what they may or may not be doing.

I am sure they are taking note of everything that is going on here.

my only problem is that it crashes while loading a multiplayer game about 40% of the time. I hat ecrashing so much, but thats one of the things that usually gets fixed
