Actually, in the transition cinematic, is it technically feasible to just cut away from the animation half-way through, when he is showing red, rather than waiting until the very end? That would tell the player they are now red.

Yup, it's possible to do that. But, the problem is that the player character's arms in first-person view will always be blue. They can't be changed. The character model will also be blue, when you use the third-person view cheat code.

So while the animation could be cut off when the character looks red, as soon as the player gains back control he/she will see blue arms.

New v1.1a of User Error Parts 1 and 2 has been released. While the main reason for the update was to fix the problem with the installers on Windows 8 (and sometimes even on prior versions of Windows), there are some additional changes.

The most significant one is the fact that the Gold colored ICPs and the various color Kernels now have energy shields and discs that match their own color. Instead of the shields and discs always being red.

I haven't been back to the site in a while, and so seeing this news (and the yummy teasers) about a new User Error is outbloodystanding! Almost better than a new Legacy film. I'm very pleased to know this is going to happen and that Tron 2.0 (the REAL sequel) has not been forgotten and still lives!
