By the end of Tron:Legacy, as Clu is heading for the portal, was most every program on the grid re-purposed? I just had a realization that every program (accept a few strays) had been re-purposed. This is the reason Clu had no more need for Zuse / Castor.
I think that the audience for the games were captured and re-purposed as the left the arena. Thoughts?

There were plenty of programs around when Sam entered Tron City looking for Zuse
, so it's obvious that nothing happened to the programs watching the games in the arena, but now that you mentioned it , Tron city seemed to be deserted after they left the EOL club, so maybe Clu's forces rectified everyone in the city .

I think it unlikely, but the numbers game has always bothered me. It seems the Games are not a rare occurrence. This has been going on for a thousand cycles. We assume that every program who participates is de-rezzed, as it seems no one is meant to get past the final round (Rinz). How many programs have been eliminated this way? I mean, how many do we see de-rezzed just during this one Games-- probably around ten?
Then there are the ones who are rectified. Again, this has been happening over the course of a thousand cycles. Even if only four or five are rectified each cycle*, we're talking about several thousand programs for Clu's army. There just didn't seem to be that many present at his little speech. A lot, yes. Thousands upon thousands? Maybe not. http://www.homeofthenutty.com/movies/screencaps/displayimage.php?album=140&pid=153215#top_display_media
*And I doubt that's the case. When Sam is picked up, there are what, six in just one fell swoop. For that many "stray" programs to be found just on one occasion, they must be picking programs up left and right. When the dogcatcher drives down the street, he doesn't catch several dogs at once and then none for the next six months-- if there are that many to be caught on one run, there are probably a LOT of dogs out there. To use a stupid metaphor.
Either way, that's a lot eliminated. Yet look at how many are still at the Games, on the street, at the club. Just how many programs can a system hold, and can one guy load onto a system (even if he didn't write them all but just "borrowed" them from other places)?

At the beginning of Evolution it does give a number for the population, and although I cant remember what it was I think it was over a MILLION or so! :O
Even then, I think that's an increadibly HIGH number of Programs for a System that size!
Even in the Uprising episode Isolated, when Beck plans to sneak aboard Tesslers ship to steal a cube Tron says that there are 20,000 Guards onboard.
When I heard that I was like "WHAT?" :O
I would have expected there to be 20,000 THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE GRID, but not just on that ship!.

Yeah, that number kind of makes me go oO too. I think yet another complaint that they're forgetting that this is a COMPUTER SYSTEM (I think someone brought that up once when we were talking about that aspect of the film. And no, I don't think it was me, lol).
TBH, I don't know how many programs are on the average system, when you count your active programs as well as your background stuff, etc. But I'm going to guess it's not even the 20,000 number.on line abortion pill misoprostol dose abortion medical abortion pill online

I had a theory that perhaps what we think of programs today are the buidings, and the things we call programs in the TRON unieverse are the individual scripts that do a specific thing. This could easily give you hundreds of thousands of programs.

I've got a similar theory as well, and that it's down to how IMPORTANT the Programs functions to the running of the System are.
Some of the Programs (such has Clu and Tron) have quite a promient roles in the System (Clu's an overseer and leader, Tron's pretty much head of security, etc), whilst WHOLE SEGMENTS of the population probably have small, more mundane things to do, and if that's the case then there would be a HIERCHY of importance in the System.
Or, to put it another way, if we were to think of these Programs in terms of HARDWARE, then the promient Programs (like Clu and Tron) would be the kind of Programs that would have their own CD and CD-ROM, whereas a large percentage of the 'Public' would probably appear has nothing more then a SINGLE LINE OF CODE on the computor screen, and nothing else.
When I do something like run a virus scan or defragmention, by screen fills up with WHOLE PAGES of code and text (which I dont really understand), and if my theory is right then there could be thousands of individuals there, some of which probaly wouldn;t constitute more then just a FEW CHARACTERS in a line of code.order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill
