Tron-style graphics on today's hardware

on Tuesday, June, 05, 2018 9:02 AM
Hi,

I love the old computer graphics from movies like Tron, The Last Starfighter, and Explorers (the shared dream). Thinking back to when those movies were made, computer hardware was much slower than today. Now we have things like Monsters Inc. and Final Fantasy. Are there any programs out there (demos, benchmarks, screensavers, animation studios, games, anything) that have a similar look and feel to this older style of computer animation? I'd love to see it or play with it.Also, what sort of software and hardware was used to make those graphics? Square used SGI machines and Linux clusters along with Mya and some other tools, so what were the equivalent tools back then?

Any help will be apprecited.

I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
