It seems like everyone's minds are still blown from the awesome Tron Legacy trailer that was released today in theaters. I saw it with my two brothers who don't really care about Tron, but after they watched the trailer, they really can't wait to see the movie. A lot of people in the audience seemed really interested in the movie as well. It was the only time in the theater that everyone really got quiet and payed attention to what was on the screen. I really have good feelings for TL. :)
While we slowly wait for the trailer to be released online, you can watch the new episode of Tron Reboot to ease the pain!

Breaking news from the BBC here:
A TV series of groundbreaking 1982 sci-fi film Tron is being made by the Disney Channel, according to reports.
The new show will be aimed at children aged between six and 14, according to trade magazine Mediaweek. It is not clear when it will air.
There are reportedly also plans for a separate 10-part micro-series to be shown in autumn 2011 on Disney XD, the cable channel aimed at young boys.
The new TV shows were revealed at a Disney presentation in New York.
Can't wait to see it! :D

Alright! Starting today, each day Disney will release a new image from the Tron Legacy Teaser Trailer that will come out this Friday with Alice in Wonderland! The first image is Flynn's arcade, all boarded up and dilapidated; very dark and grim too. Awesome!
Also, AICN is reporting in that Steven Lisberger is personally overseeing the color correction process for Tron's first ever high definition release on Blu-Ray! This is the first re-release of Tron in 8 years, as well as being the very first release of Tron in Hi Def.
And this just in, Tron premieres in high-definition on HDNET this Wednesday night (9 PM Eastern, 6 PM Pacific). Thanks to Fumetsu for the headsup!
Check back tomorrow here and Tron Wiki for the next image!
Oh...BTW...

After the news of renaming the sequel from TR2N to TRZ to TRON 2 to finally just TRON and trying out experimental changes to the logo, us Tron fans have been getting really tired of this name and logo-changing nonsense. Fortunately, some really juicy details about the sequel have finally come in. Our good friend TronFAQ has told us that production has finally started and that /film displayed some of the first images from the set of Tron 2 on their website: a picture of the ENCOM headquarters and an actor in a program suit!

According to Zack, the person that obtained the ENCOM building photo:
They have been spending some crazy money here. They have been blocking off huge main sections of downtown [Vancouver] for some pretty awesome looking action scenes. I saw tons of police cars chasing a guy hanging on to the top of a taxi. There were huge cranes holding up a stunt wire rig rig like I have never seen before. There is definitely some impressive non light cycle real life action in this movie. They have also transformed the tallest building in the city with huge ENCOM logos and futuristic lighting. I was in total awe of how much equipment and gadgets they had. Everything I’ve seen them doing in the last five days is easily some of the most expensive stuff I’ve ever seen. It’s probably is $300 million, even if it’s Canadian dollars. I only managed to grab this crappy still with the big logo and some futuristic room above.
Earlier this week, a user on YouTube posted a video of stunt for Tron 2 that involved a real motorcycle.

Looks like things are shaping up really well in Vancouver!!

Several sites have begun reporting that Disney is rezzing up to remake Tron rather than create a sequel. We can thank Sci-Fi for that Trend, unfortunately. Of the news posts I've read so far, Looks like it's being taken away from Steven and turned over to Brian Klugman & Lee Sternthal. WHO? you ask... Excatly. Harry Knowles from Aint-It-Cool News said it best...
Lisberger is a visionary and an artist that envisioned the future of what computers would be. These guys, their only qualifications were that they plunked a lot of quarters into the stand up version of the video game... I just don't have faith in them.
Read the complete article here. It's worth your time.
I for one am not happy about them potentially excluding Steven from the process. That doesn't sit well with me at all. It's Battlestar Galactica all over again.
Post how you your feel the news. |
