Talk about a niche in a niche in a niche. Some of you may be familiar with a game called Dance Dance Revolution - you know, the game where people dance idiotically to Japanese pop songs. Yeah, that one.
Well, I'm a big fan of that game. And a big fan of TRON. So when Cobalt Flux (a dance pad manufacturer) recently held a "design our decals" contest, I couldn't help but try a TRON related entry.
This image is a much smaller version of what I've submitted and it is meant to be split into nine sections for the different functions of the dance pad. It's my first crack at TRON art, so go easy on me...

LOL! That was pretty funny. And I screwed up the Thorne fight and had to watch them dance a couple of times too

To compute or not to compute that is the question at hand. Tis nobler to compile in C++ or in TASM.

I'm just wondering if they had asled what kind of music to go with it. Or is this format is just for the places that you step on on the game itself. I have seena few of these around in teh arcades places where I live.

That's great, Sinistar!
Excellent TRON-ization of a popular arcade game!
I hope you don't mind, but I've added it to the Image Gallery under Fan Art, in your name.
Oh, and welcome to TRON-Sector! I hope you stick around - it's a GREAT place!

Heh, thanks! Once the competition is over, I'll be releasing the high res version. Though at 2268x2268, it's a bit big.

In this instance, these are only the graphics for where you step. If somebody would do some club remixes of Wendy Carlos tracks, we could do the full game.

When you're ready, just upload that image to the Member Upload section and I'll post that one there too. I think people would enjoy the opportunity to download the high-res version of it

I'm working on a Tron DDRMix right now (I'm inspired by your new decals).
It's about 44 seconds long so far and all in MIDI format at the moment. I'll let you guys know when I finish it.

It occured to me: This is totally off topic, but is'nt the title of this thread morbid from a program point of veiw? I suggest: Dance Dance Digitization

Well, I just finished the MIDI file, dance steps and banners for compatibility in Dance With Intensity. Its total length is 1:28 which feels perfect for this song. All I have to do now is take the MIDI file I sequenced and make an MP3 with decent samples and it's all good to go.
I tested it out in DWI just a few minutes ago and it was a lot of fun, even with a keyboard and no dance pad!
EDIT: I also got this to play just as well, if not better, in Stepmania.

Revolution and Resolution was too good of a word-play to let pass. Plus, the upward 'scroll' effect during Clu's derezzing is mildly reminiscent of a DDR arrow scroll.
Okay, now I'm really stretching.
