That's a great line that shows how computers have evolved over the years. Back in the time of Tron and before, chances are the 'user' actually did write the program that the computer was using, or at least keyed it in.

You are on to something. Now with AI and ISO's "springing" into existence, doesn't that make the belief in the Users rather obsolete?

No doubt, DevRevenge. Programs no longer have a single User. Long gone are the days when a program could have a single User. If the Tron program came out in 2011, he would be created by 500 different programmers instead of just Alan Bradley.

No no. Flynn says they didn't really come from anywhere they just came into being. It's the miracle, man. ISO's have no User therefore they have no deity. It's like Evolution vs. Creationism.

Yeah ISOs have no creator. I assume they still need the User on some level, if only to protect the 'integrity' of the system. If Flynn's Arcade had been disassembled while Flynn and the ISOs were stuck inside, what would have become of them? Sam indirectly protected them even though he didn't know of their existence (by keeping the Arcade safe) and they were protected without knowing of the User.

Exactly, with the growth of open source software, Linux variants probably being the biggest of the bunch, a lot of programs are an amalgamation of many users work.
