When CLU is riding towards that other hapless about-to-be-derezzed program on the spiral ramp during the LC battle, you can see through the bottom of the surface of the arena grid itself, and what you can see are stars

lined up in a grid pattern. And when the light runner makes it's jump from the arena to the outlands, it's a top-down shot, and in looking down you can see there is a chasm between the arena and the outlands, and in that (probably bottomless) chasm you can see the stars again, laid out in a grid pattern.
Sue me, I finally got a 1080 p set and the blu-ray player and T:L on blu-ray to go with it. I was nothing short of truly AMAZED at the things you can see when you truly watch this movie on HD. You'll see even more details on screen than you did even in the theater. This was just one new thing I noticed but there were many.
Not much has been said about what those stars are, why they're lined up s they are, if they even are stars, what would happen if someone fell into that chasm or through the bottom of the LC arena and so on. So lets' open this up, shoot it around the room........waddya got for me guys?
