I got a great applause from the class. Glade too, cause class reaction affects part of the speech grade.
I basically divided the speech into 4 main points.
First point was about Trons creator, Steven Lisberger. (used transparensy of him sitting in his directors chair with a tron helmut on)
Second was about the 4 cgi companies that helped with
. MAGI,Triple-I, Robert Able & Associates, and Digital Effects Inc. (used transpancies showing what vechiles or schenes each company did)
Third point I talked about how advanced
was with it's computer special effects.
Fouth point I talked about Hollywoods reaction when
was released. Remember the Film Awards saying Disney cheated when they used computers?
I used that and made the point about how Hollywood was slow to accept Tron and cgi special effects.
The conclusion I used a clicher ending. I used a direct quote from John Casseter, Director of Toy Story. “I think it will always stand as the milestone in computer animation. I mean, without Tron, there would be no Toy Story.”
I'm still getting compliments from class mates about how well my speech was. I heard from a faculty member that my teacher was actually bragging about my speech!
My speech must come off better than I thought it would cause to make my speech teacher brag is hard to do the they say. Alot of the other student didn't put much effort into their speeches, I hate to say. Some didn't even reach the 3 minute minimum and were not organized.
sign... Now I gotta do a so called "After Dinner Speech", also known as an entertaining speech.
