Has anyone ever sucessfully emulated the Tron controller for the PC?

I havent.....but I used this controller for Tron on Mame and it worked well from what I remember.

sure it wouldnt take much to wire this to the Tron controls.

Here's the controler used in the arcades. You can even buy the tron sticker that goes in the top incert.

Best MAME controller for Discs of TRON and TRON is a trackball mouse in my opinion. The ball worked with the thumb allows you to conrol the aiming for the Spiders and MCP Cone levels quite easily. The aiming aspects of DOT are perfect with a trackball. Yes, but here it's going to be brand new, and the controllers can be used with other games. I'm building an arcade cab with MAME inside. I have the spinner and the Competition stick with buttons. Now all I need is the 3" trackball and two of those Tron style sticks. The spinner is on the left side so I can play Tron like it is in the Arcades. I plan on posting the blueprints for the cab once I'm done with them in AutoCAD.

That will be cool to see. Will it be a full cab, or like what DOT that has the enclosure with it as well?

I tried that, but just couldn't quite get the hang of that sucker. I miss the old arcade grips
