Own, modified Textures

on Tuesday, January, 03, 2006 5:27 PM
Hi all,
I want to add my own Texture, a modified version of an exiting one and I wondered how to to that. Can anybody help me? Did it gives a Plug-In for Photoshop or something to save the textures as .dtx files? If, where can I get it?
morpheus4

Thanks for your help ^^

Read these two threads:

There's a plug-in for Photoshop that came with the editing tools, but I personally don't use it.

I also just found this page, which mentions a plugin you can download for Photoshop 6 or greater:
http://www.planetavp.com/projam/skinning.shtml. A little ways down the page, there's a link titled, "dtxplugin.zip": http://home.adelphia.net/%7Epolsen/dtxplugin.zip
(Use at your own risk. I am not responsible for if this causes harm to your Photoshop or computer. I just did a Google search and found it.)

STEP 7: If you have PhotoShop 6 or above there is another file I want you to download, unzip and follow the instructions in the files readme.txt here it is dtxplugin.zip

Good luck

I'm getting out of here right now, and you guys are invited. -----^

That zip contains the same plug-in that came with the Tron editing tools . . . so there's not really any need to download it. (The plug-in is in the "Plugins" folder, that came with the tools. It's called "DTXFormat.8bi".)

Heh, funny you should mention that . . . that's the reason why I don't use the plug-in. Not because it will mess up Photoshop. But simply because it doesn't work well (if at all) in the latest versions of Photoshop. I couldn't get it to work at all in Photoshop 8, for example.

Like with all of the plug-ins provided with the tools, it's old and outdated.

Mind you, if morpheus4 has an older version of Photoshop, then it should work okay.
