It was a very eventful event of many events that were eventful.

Unfortunately, one of those events were that the Rock Band franchise is now completely dead. Green Day Rock Band looks like Activision ninja'd the Rock Band license from MTV and made another single band-centered Guitar Hero game with square notes.

You don't follow The Beatles up with Green Day. It doesn't work like that. Even the press hated this when it was revealed.

Anyways, I saw the trailer, then watched it again. It was pretty freaking awesome.

I'll make an analysis video soon. Things I'm hoping for:

- First Person/Third Person option, yet it's perfectly understandable if it's a third person action game, ala Uncharted 2 (which surprisingly won GOTY over MW2).

- Multiplayer. Online at least, but offline would be nice, as well. I'd hope for a pretty good number of modes. Deathmatch, CTF, Lightcycles, and the like. Maybe Killer App's OverRIDE mode.

- A good single player experience. I've always seen games with multiplayer like this: The single player campaign is the primary storyline, and the multiplayer mode is a separate storyline that runs parallel to that of the single player campaign.

- Cinematic sequences like the recognizer scene in the trailer. Enough of these could end up being really awesome.

- Wii MotionPlus support. Anyone who played frisbees on Wii Sports Resort should know how great this can be. I've said enough.

I'd also like to point out to everyone (again) that the lightcycles may have been inspired by a German DOS game from 1995 called Achtung, Die Kurve!, which you can play right here:

The inevitable high quality trailer has been released.

http://www.gametrailers.com/video/tron-evolution-spike-tv/59815
PC version finally confirmed. There will also be 360 and PS3 versions (big surprise). Now just don't have the PC version done by a crap porting studio like Aspyr and done in-house instead, and maybe things might be starting to look up a little.

Aside from the usual stupid and lame comments you'd expect on GameTrailers, one of them was interesting . . .

I've got a possible observation, having watched this trailer at least 5 times. . .

Is it just me - or does the voice of the yellow cloaked guy sound like a slightly-distorted version of Jeff Bridges' voice??? Maybe the cloaked hooded guy is the corrupt version of Clu? Hmmmm. . . . . .

I also recall Joseph Kosinski saying something about some pretty huge event happening with Kevin Flynn in 1989 that caused tremendous change in the system. Any takers on this?

Fighting for TRON, The USERS, Both Flynns, Independents, and the mighty ISOs since '82.

My first impression was Jeff, but it may also sound like Bruce. I like the sounds in the game so far.

It needs massive mutliplayer maps to boot, and look great, imo.

When I saw the trailer, I got the impression that the story behind this game was conceived after playing Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, with the whole 'badass guy' persona going.

Just a thought. Still hoping it's not going to be crappy!

I have some nitpicks, but I'm at least willing to accept and let Tron Legacy's and Tron: Evolution's look grow on me a bit...

with a year for release.. i expect a lot of arenas, and large ones. and maybe some sort of ball-popper-arm-shooter thing, shooting balls at cycles causing them to fall, frisbees bouncing of walls, and some sort of open areas in the grid of which you can fall off, preset dynamic arena cams. i can tell this won't go the path of 3D by the nonvolumetric bitmapped fx (nor euphoria stuff, or..), but this game will play good, in a more retro style way (which I like).. I already know it'll be a better game than f.i. avatar game.

I wouldn't say first person for characters, but 1st person for the cycles might be nice (although not necessary). characters are nicely animated (maybe they can climb on stuff as well, maybe not).. i noticed the sounds of the recognizers aren't the phased propellor sounds, and the headlight of the cycles make sense, the floating 2's, but the hoofs of recognizers are a bit loose hanging (how'd they go stomping? maybe they just don't).. overall.. I approve..

Btw.. Cycles 3D was my fav. regular lightcycles game, played perfect at lan parties (i reckon if they remade it using flynns next gen cycle for iphone in its most basic form, add some of that hologram tech to it, it'll sell like candy for a 3dollar app.. as another seperate standalone game-thing.. could be done in a month).

Please stop. Thanks much.

I've edited my objective post about the trailer to protect your eyes.

Next time, please try countering my objective views of the film or game by stating all your positives about them, and don't make it personal.order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill

I didn't take it personal at all. lol

I will keep my expectations for the game neutral, I think I will be far less likely to get upset if the game doesn't turn out according to some high pedastal, overly ambitious criteria, and high expectations.order abortion pill morning after pill price where to buy abortion pill

I said "don't make it personal," man. lol

(I'm only eding it with "man" there, as it seems ending sarcastic personal jabs with "man" and "dude" seems to be the Tron-Sector trend these days.)

I guess TronFAQ and NoExcuses were right. There's no way to have objective criticisms about the film or game in the forums these days. They all lead to people being martyrs for Tron Legacy who will defend at all costs (including personal jabs at old schoolers); or people so pro-80s Tron that they jab the other way.

Check your PM and let's keep your personal attacks and related discussions there going forward, rather than in the forums.where to buy abortion pill abortion types buy abortion pill online

I wasn't making anything personal. What I said was not intended as personal attacks at all.
Not sure how my comments were taken that way.

My apologies if those comments came off that way.

The "colored on crayon marks" comment sure seemed alot more subjecticve than objective to me though.

Back on topic.

I think the teaser went by to quickly in some parts, but from what I can make out from pausing it frame by frame, it looks like it may have potential to be a decent game.

Hopefully the TL style Light Cycle races are in multiplayer online at the least. Overall it looks pretty cool I think.

Could it look a tiny bit better visual detail wise, yeah, but it's cool so far I think.

So is anyone else here thinking what I'm thinking? Tron was the ultimate weapon - He beat the MCP. The guy featured in the game trailer said he was created to be the ultimate weapon. Sounds like Bruce to me. Just a thought.. Could be entirely new.

Nah, doesn't make much sense.

I think that maybe Flynn attempted to connect the Encom system to the internet, and a custom made Virus Program slipped in, so Flynn had to sever the connection, but the virus had already got in...

The voiceover is maybe Jeff Bridges's voice modulated to sound deeper and a bit MCP like....

Perhaps there's a complete shift in Encom, everyone vs. Flynn in the mountain. Given that Tron is more militant in the original, I'm also use that as criteria..

I think Bruce Boxleitner had a deeper voice, just an observation.where to buy abortion pill abortion types buy abortion pill online

Nearly every upload of the T:E videogame trailer has been pulled by Youtube.

Seems SpikeTV/MTV network or maybe Disney are being waay too protective of the trailer from the VGA show... Lame.

The Game Grid Awaits New Combatants -- Disney Interactive Studios Announces TRON: Evolution, the Video Game

Video Game Will Provide One of the Keys to Unlocking TRON Mythology before the Opening of Major 2010 Action Adventure Film – “TRON: Legacy”

BURBANK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The digital world of TRON is awaiting a new participant. Disney Interactive Studios today announced the development of TRON: Evolution, the video game. TRON: Evolution is an action/adventure game being created for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and Windows PC. Developed by Propaganda Games, Disney Interactive Studios’ action and role-playing game studio in Vancouver, British Columbia, TRON: Evolution is scheduled for release in Holiday 2010 before the “TRON: Legacy” film arrives in theaters.

Set during the era between the two TRON films, TRON: Evolution conveys the story of significant events within the TRON mythology. The game features an epic adventure across a massive digital world filled with high-mobility disc-based combat and advanced light cycles.

TRON: Evolution is one of the keys to unlocking the TRON mythology. The game’s story takes place before the “TRON: Legacy” events and provides insight into the film’s past. As an integrated entertainment experience, the film will reference elements of the game’s story. Fans will want to play the game to learn more about the TRON mythology seen in the film, but each entertainment experience will stand on its own.

“We expect TRON: Evolution to be a premier action-focused game that both stands on its own and supplements a major event film,” said Dan Tudge, vice president and general manager, Propaganda Games. “Because Propaganda Games is based in Vancouver, which was the site of the film’s principal photography, we were able to leverage the proximity to continuously collaborate with the filmmakers and ensure authenticity between the two projects.”

“TRON: Legacy” film director Joseph Kosinski consulted on the vision for the debut video game trailer, which includes computer graphics that were created by the same company that will provide the film’s CG animations. Kosinski will advise on the game’s vision during 2010 to ensure accuracy with the film. In addition to directing “TRON: Legacy,” Kosinski is renowned in the video games industry as having directed prolific feature film-quality game trailers for major product releases.

“The collaboration between the video game development studio and the film creators is exceptional,” said Sean Bailey, producer, “TRON: Legacy.” “From the ongoing discussions between the filmmakers and the game developers, TRON: Evolution should enhance and expand the mythology and the world of ‘TRON: Legacy.’”

As part of the connection between the game and film, actress Olivia Wilde stars as Quorra in TRON: Evolution. Wilde’s voice and likeness as Quorra will provide players with another direct link to the film as they discover how earlier events within the world of TRON shape her character’s future.

“TRON is the most revered video game-inspired film property of all time,” said Craig Relyea, senior vice president of global marketing, Disney Interactive Studios. “TRON: Evolution, the video game, will enhance the TRON experience for existing fans of the franchise as well as an entirely new audience.”

TRON: Evolution and “TRON: Legacy” are brand new entries in the TRON franchise, updating the unique world for this millennium. The cross-platform franchise being created around the “TRON: Legacy” film will transcend media platforms throughout Disney. The revolutionary 1982 film “TRON” catapulted video games into mainstream consciousness and contributed to the industry’s rapid growth and global success. The original film inspired arcade games and video game releases, making TRON a highly successful multi-format franchise.

TRON: Evolution is Rating Pending from the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB).
