Syd Mead homage?

Ok, I'm not sure if this should be it's own topic, but I couldn't find anyplace else to put it.

Did anyone else notice the name of the street in front of Flynn's in the trailer? The real life street (and the one seen in the original 1982 film) is Watseka Ave but it now reads Mead St. Hmmm....nice!

It's obviously not the same arcade as in the movie there were two streets that crossed right in front of the arcade and it was a major highway. Now it's practically a deserted alley. So did they move it, or build a series of similar looking arcades? Hmmm?

Yeah, this sounded stupid as I was typing it, so what?

At the trailer screening the director said they re-created the building on a back lot. Which was impressive to me because a lesser quality production would have just done a digital matte.

You can see pics I took yesterday of the original location in Culver City, CA here http://www.flickr.com/photos/aharvey2k/sets/72157623597898206/
It's not a major highway in front of the building, it's a somewhat busy street. Shot at night with the right ammt of traffic going through it makes it appear more city like.

SPOILER... Mouse Over To Read:
Not having ever visited the location of where the old Flynn's was, I think I could've easily be swindled into believing the Flynn's building in the new movie was the same old location from 27 years ago. (Although, since I'm an educated Tron fan, I know the old location is now, or recently was, a Italian restuarant or something, so I'd realize it likely wasn't the same.) The screenshot from the new movie there looks similar to how I remember the streets in the old movie. I never thought it was a 'highway' next to it or nearby. I think it'd easier to convince me it's the same Flynn's because of how the old movie framed the shot -- gives you slight tunnel vision -- you can't really see the surroundings very well.

I recently visited the houses that was filmed in Goonies. (The one that the kids lived at, and the one that 'Data' zip-lined to that house from.) The location there in-person didn't seem at all how I remembered it in the movie. This was due to how the area was framed by the camera; I always just had a pre-conceived vision in my mind of how that area looked.

PS: It looks like they're maintaining the old Flynn's location quite well, which is very nice to see. I would be sad if that place ever got all dilapidated.
