I utterly and completely agree with what Mr. Sinistar stated. I mean, although he just "backed out", I back him up with his latter argument...
I've been an avid PC gamer since 1984... IBM's Alley Cat, Sierra On-Line's "you name it", and well, the original Strip Poker too... but nowadays, I couldn't care less about PC games when identical versions (for all practical purposes and intentions) of most of them are available for the consoles...
By the way, I'm 36 and I can afford an Alienware Area-51... The thing is, for just playing games the amount of time me and my kid play games (2 to 3 hours every 2 to 3 days), it's NOT worth the money... Thank God for the cheaper, dedicated hardware from the likes of Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo...
I'm planning buying TRON: Evolution for the XBOX 360 as soon as it comes out...

Epic meh.
"Coming out for XBox360 and Playstation 3." |
I've seen everyone's thoughts here and I say, "Epic meh," for this, too. For whatever reason they have for not saying the PC platform, I don't accept any of them. There's no reason to not mention an entire platform like "PC". I'd understand if they leave off "PSP" or "NintendoDS," but not PC. I have a PS3 and a PC, so I'm okay either way. But if it's good, I may try to get it on both; and I'd look forward to the PC mods.
Based on the 'perpetually on the move fighting enemies' comment, though, I doubt I'll want the game for both systems. Maybe not even one of them.
The visuals look really good in the game, if those are gameplay screenshots. Sadly, the only reason I may buy this is to look at the Tron world, as it doesn't sound like the gameplay will appeal to me. I don't want to play a linear, fast-paced arcade action shooter for 16 levels; or anything close. Any Tron game being marketed as what he did is not a good thing for me. I don't want non-stop action in a Tron game. I love Tron for its environments, scale, non-rushed pace and sense of wonder. If I'm constantly battling enemies at a fevered pace and rarely getting moments to explore and let the atmosphere soak in, this game will likely be a major let-down for me. I'm tired of every game catering to and contributing to peoples' A.D.D. needs.
I really hope Tron Legacy isn't a constant grab-the-seat-of-your-chair rollercoaster ride of a movie. That may be why Propaganda is making the game the way they are; which would be sad, IMO. (Emphasis placed on all my comments --> IMO)

How is any of this relevant or constructive to the discussion? So you don't like PC games any more. It's great that you've made your choice, and enjoy it when it comes out on console.
The bleedin' point is: there are people who want it on PC, and why did the Propaganda rep not mention it? When it clearly IS coming to the PC? It's just careless and annoying. It starts rumors and speculation when there was no need for that to happen.
Let's do an experiment here. Let's say there was no PC version, but there was one for the Wii. So the Propaganda rep says 360 and PS3, but leaves out mention of the Wii. Don't you think several of us would have an equal "WTF?" reaction?
I found confirmation that it is definitely still coming to the PC, BTW.

Had the title previously been announced or shown on a product page as being available on Wii, then yes, definitely. Maybe not the exact same number, because we'd have that split number of people who'd rather get it for 360 or PS3.
I'd honestly prefer a Wii version over a PC version for the controls, simply put. I can't imagine the PC version being too open with custom mod/map support or anything (ala Modern Warfare 2). I'm just imagining it as a straight up 360 port.

I agree. That will probably be the case. Maybe Disney Interactive will surprise us with mod support, but they don't exactly have a great track record in that department. So I'm keeping my expectations low.
You know, I would've thought that - of anybody - Tron fans would stick together. Considering all the crap we've had to take over the years for being fans of Tron, I think it's highly disappointing that there are those among us who would try to disparage or put down another fan's particular interest or choice.
You won't see me going around saying what I don't like about consoles. It's because it doesn't matter to me what you want to play on. So leave me alone when I want to play games on my PC. Fair?
Not referring to you of course, TRON.dll.

The bleedin' point is: They couldn't care less about the bloody PC version either... because sales of the PC version of TRON sucked.
The answer you're looking for here, YOU already know because YOU've already posted at your blog here: http://tronfaq.blogspot.com/2006/02/just-how-well-did-tron-20-do-anyway.html

Oh, God. Look what I started.
I'm sorry I posted anything at all about PC gaming in general. I had second thoughts right after I submitted the message.
Let's return to the original discussion which is the game itself, regardless of which platform it's out for. I don't want another freaking flame war.

Wow. Just . . . wow. I don't think anything more needs to be said at this point. You clearly win. Congratulations.
Except if you'd read what I wrote in that link, to the end: you'd have noticed I mentioned that the Xbox version of Tron 2.0 didn't sell either. In fact, none of the versions sold well (PC, Xbox, GBA).

Well, to be honest, I started the rants about the other platforms and all I can say is, that I'm not flaming by saying what I said, I don't think having an opinion is bad, so Mr. Sinistar, the fact that they have only mentioned PC on one site does give me a bad feeling, there's nothing negative by having that point of view, but I also know and have played all the consoles, and I don't hate them, but I get aggrivated knowing they made the game with basically a PC.
So yeah, it's not really my intention to get you in the middle, only that everyone knows TRON is all about computers. We can all agree that - it took place in a supercomputer, not in an arcade machine, although that capability would present it's-self in the future. Fine.. but seriously, gamers who bought and supported the games about tron should be insulted that in today's times a good majority of good games, many which began on, and all made on PCs - are nowadays on consoles.
Not hating - just being me.

I recommend taking the opinions of those at Eurogamer with a mountain of salt.
They're well known among many as some of the most pretentious, narrow-minded, snobbish arseh*les in videogame journalism.
Often some really great games are often under-rated and overly nitpicked and the most minor of (often) subjective "flaws" are used to drastically lower a game's score (often this is usually the case with even *good* 3rd party Wii core games that are actually pretty good that are *not* crappy at all),
but certain mainstream games on the other consoles that have similar "flaws" or actual flaws are downplayed and still given 9's and 10's.
IMO. Eurogamer can s**k my shiny fat GPU... where to buy abortion pill abortion types buy abortion pill online

Figures. Many of these movie based games get so little time for development and testing that they should be viewed as nothing more than an interactive commercial that you get to pay $50 to watch. Look at how many years of work have gone into Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3.
The last movie based game I bought was Land of the Dead: Road to Fiddlers Green mainly because I am a fan of George Romero movies and the price was right at $20. The game wasn't anything fantastic, played it once and that was it.
