TRON COSTUMES

on Sunday, January, 16, 2011 3:17 PM
Does anyone have Tron body armor pieces to make an authentic Tron '82 costume?
I found a website by the Tronguy who made his own using a unitard and armor pieces from eBay.
I need help making mine. If anyone has those plastic armor pieces or even better, if you have a completed one, I wish to buy.acman:abortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

Greetings again programs and users.

I also commented on another thread about the discs.
I want a better and more authentic frisbee light disc for the costumes.

this is the old school way of making "battle gear", but you just use paper mache. C:

for the disc just go to a used sports equipment place and pick up a frisbee golf disc. paint it white and for the rings either paint them (glow paint is awesome), el wire (I did that but the glue under the wires keeps breaking), or maybe even get a sheet of reflective tape and cut out rings. after that you are set

Wow. Thanks for the tips inxthexunblind. Your costume looks way better than TronGuys. I will consider doing that myself with the sport equipment.
I also don't have technical skills, but the desire to have a costume makes me want to experiment with the EL wire.
How did you make the rest of the clothing costume?

Hand painted the circuitry with glow paint on a dancing unitard. though i found out glopaint.com (same brand i used) also has spray paint so you can always make a stencil out of poster board and spray it on. the kind i used was in a squeeze bottle and resembles puffy paint. If I make a Clu or Sark I'm probably going to use the stencil method.

Inxthexunblind, did you use a Bauer 4500 hockey helmet?

OK programs and users. So now that we all have our discs,
HOW THE HECK DO WE ATTACH THEM SECURELY TO OUR COSTUMES??

This question applies to both the old frisbee style disc and the new Legacy toy.

I dunno about the Frisbee disc, but for the new one it should be easy enough to use black thread, or the beading thread that is like clear fishing line, and simply sew it on (if you don't need to remove it). If you do need to remove it...no idea!where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online

What do you want? I'm busy.

Program, please!

Chaos.... good news.

Velcro was used to attach the old frisbee style discs to the costume.

The hockey helmet to use for the Tron helmet is the Cooper SK2000 helmets that are no longer made. Do a search on my username and you'll see my helmet project thread and the specific helmet to use.

Also, there is a site called therpf.com and on that site is a thread where the members there have identified the exact padded items used in the torso area in the Tron 80s movie... below is the link... (you're welcome)

I was going to glue magnets to the "Deluxe Identity Disc" and sew magnets into my outer coat so that way you can remove it and replace it fairly easily? I don't know anyone else tried this? I haven't gotten that far in my costume yet abortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

Thank you very much for all your help.
Good idea on keeping the disc securely Kat.
Navin323i, I was also thinking about using Velcro on the '82 discs. I will check out your links.
isomorphick, you would need very strong magnets to keep the Legacy disc securely to a costume.
How did they do in the Legacy movie??

I was toying with an idea to have a light-weight wood carving of a Legacy disc with EL-wire to use as a costume prop to aviod using (and damaging/losing the toy version). What do you all think? Does anyone have woodshop skills?

this is what im doing with my costume, i'm attaching a plastic but thin tupperware instead and not the disc itself such as this:

im planning to thicken the outer sides with masking tape and then spray paint the whole thing black. that way the disc holds on tight but also softly coz it's just tape and doesnt damage my deluxe disc. and also this way i only have to problemize, but not that much, how to attach the tupperware. by maybe still tape or something stronger like super glue. or velcro. so it can be detached. hope this helps.. oh maybe for the ones willing to stick things to their discs, they can use velcro tape on the inner circle of the disc, so it'd hold well on the tupperware.

As for all the questions, RPF forum's the place to be, multiple people over there have done a ton of different things, I've made mine already and going to be doing another for this Halloween.

First, for my first costume, I got underarmour off of Ebay, its like neoprene, fairly cheap. Then I cut out the stencils out of white shower curtain, went to elwirepros.com and got their porta-kit (one inverter to power 4 ten foot long strands of el wire) and ran them all over the white strips. Then I simply cut out another white vinyl shower curtain in identical strips and laid it over the first, making a sort of pocket that the wire ran through (this diffused the light so it made the entire strip glow instead of just a thin wire hot spot). As for the back, youtube 'tron legacy costume'...best thing to do is take some sort of plastic container, spray paint it black, attach small magnets to it and a disc and you're done.

For this year I'm going to be making a Quorra for my fiancee, instead of underarmour she's going to be trying these: ( http://blog.costumecraze.com/2011/01/first-look-at-new-tron-costumes ) when they drop. Still going to be using the same method of pocketing the wire, but at least this way the first design of white strips is already in place...should be easier.where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online
