Modding the UK Light Cycle

on Saturday, March, 19, 2011 11:13 PM
Ok, tonight I finally managed to crack open my 12" Pullback Light Cycle.

I literally had to crack it open:

It was difficult, I discovered I had to break the rider off the bike using a large flat screwdriver as he's glued on at a few points:
  • By his calves, the bottom corners of the cover that goes over his back - fairly easy
  • The 'tail' of the cover that goes over his back - a bit difficult
  • Behind his knees - the toughest parts to break off, brute strength is needed
Then undo the four screws and crack the two halves of the shell open, you'll need that screwdriver leverage on the rear wheel arch because they've held the two halves together with grip pins as you can see in the above picture.

As for modding it to be permanently powered off USB, that's something I'll have to look into another day, don't want to accidentally damage any wires this late in the day (I can repair them, just annoying having to fix things that you shouldn't need to fix).

Oh and yes, the wires for lighting the riders disc do enter his body in a dubious place order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

When I first tried to open it up I couldn't believe how much brute force I was putting in to separating the two halves of the bike and how it didn't break anything important, then I figured out you have to rip the rider off first.

Changing the LED colour is certainly a possibility, first I have to see what voltage the existing blue ones are being fed, I'm guessing they're getting 3v straight from the two 1.5v AA's with no current limiting resistors, unlike the orange ones in the Recogniser which have resistors. Actually replacing them would take quite a bit of time, I think there's 20 in all.

Typically red, orange, yellow LEDs need under 2v and blue, white LEDs need over 3v.

As I have some extra Cycles I could do a permanently lit display of two Cycles with different colour LEDs in.order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pillwhere to buy abortion pill abortion types buy abortion pill online

Looking at a couple of bikes I have noticed one or two LEDs aren't the exactly the same colour and brightness as the rest, but I put this down to two things:

Cheap source of LEDs. (what manufacturer would pay top dollar for LEDs in a cheaply produced toy)
Driving the LEDs at a lower voltage than they're rated for.

I've figured out how to run the bike's LEDs from USB but it has double the amount of and higher voltage requirement LEDs than the Recogniser so there might be a problem with that.
My Recogniser has been lit by USB power for the past 5 days as part of a burn-in test, so far so good except I think some of the paper stickers I used covering the wires have become unstuck and are blocking light instead of reflecting it.

I've been thinking of replacing all the LEDs in one bike with white ones with a light blue cellophane filter because Sam's bike in the film isn't glowing blue, it's glowing white with a slight hint of blue.where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online
