What? And turn the condition from "New" into "Used"?

Funny, people call me a Pack Rat.... my stuff is junk? I'm the same as a guy that saves every newspaper?

When I die, I should post my address - you all could come out and help my friends/family "take all the junk out to the trash".

LOL

They wouldn't have gone through the trouble of pressing those little grooves onto it if they weren't intending you to play them.

We have to do that every time one of my my mom's relatives die. I have stashed around the house enough awesome groovy 60s furniture and other housewares to furnish a medium-sized apartment once I move out. Stuff that was going to be chucked.

User897 Wrote:Well I kinda agree. If you're gonna have vinyl, you gotta drop a needle in it every now and again. These records come in packaging that is not sealed, so there's no harm in it.

Hmm. I have mixed feelings about giving it the needle. Every time you play it, it will degrade. And accidents do happen. Skate a needle across it once and game over.

If I get these, they will probably go on display and not be played. Heresy maybe to some people, but everyone is free to do what they want with them. Just like the toys. Some people play with them. Some keep them minty. It's all personal preference. These are quite rare, so to me they are NOT to be played with. I wouldn't think of depriving others of enjoying their LPs by listening to the fine music embedded on it, though

From my calling around on the weekend, nobody in south Florida got a copy of the Daft Punk RSD LPs. One store I talked to got no Record Store Day releases of any kind despite signing up.

What a cluster.

Meh, this disc it won't play on a laser turntable anyway. ;-D

User897 Wrote:I didn't say anything about repeatedly playing the records. With collector's items, especially in a case like this where I already have the music digitally, I play the record once to make sure there are no flaws, then that's it. If it's something I don't already have, it is played a time or two for the recording and conversion process. The vinyl does not get degraded from a couple spins.

Ah. I misunderstood what you said. Yes, a couple times playing it shouldn't hurt as long as you're very careful. I have a (quality) turntable that attaches to my PC for conversion, so I may run it once just to convert it. Then to figure out how I will display them. Assuming I get them, of course. abortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

I took a long shot on Monday to see if one of the out in the middle of nowhere places had one by chance. Duder said "Sorry man, we tried to get some, but the Daft Punk record wasn't released in the US. At all. I know because we tried to get them, we had several people hunting for it."

...is there a facepalm digicon here??

I didn't even bother. He was obviously right, and I didn't want to set him wrong. Even though, during the conversation, I told him that I got two of the three and was hunting for the third color. It struck me stupid more than anything.

You seem like a technical guy, have you analyzed or recorded what's on the record?

Does it seem to match exactly what was put out on the soundtrack?

I'm curious if the LP will be mastered exactly the same as the CD soundtrack or if it will be tweaked.

I got my Red one from Strictly Discs.

It shipped and came quickly.

They did leave the store's original price tag on it - $10.99.

I was charged $21.09 + $5 S&H.

I would imagine they charge their web/phone customers more to pay for the website and processing - that's fair (I work in retail as well and know the costs).

$5 S&H where $2.60 was Media Mail. They did ship in in new packaging (LP cardboard box and bubble wrap specific to sending LP's) so that's fair as well.

Now I have all three - I can sleep tonight...

Now, onto the OST LP debacle...

While I was expecting retail when ordering by mail order. I said yes to the 20.00 price, considering how much they are going for on ebay. I'm not sure they will ever be had for less than 20.00..

I thought also I heard that the local shop can set the prices to help with their costs for a local business. These were supposed to go between $11 - $20....
