Any 3D Modelers here?

on Thursday, May, 26, 2011 8:16 AM
Hi!
Wondering if there are any other people here who do 3D computer modeling. I've used POV-Ray since 1995 and have just been getting back into it.
I have an old-school TRON lightcycle model and a Recognizer model for POV-Ray so far. I would like to find some more models to really flesh things out for a couple of animated scenes before the pinball game comes out!

Programming is a lot like pinball, actually. The reward for doing it well is the opportunity to do it again.

I also know how to use 3D modeling software (Maya, in particular).

I've only ever made one Tron-related thing in it though:

I'll play any mode, but I'm best at LC.

-I have a Wii, DS, and 3DS. PM me to exchange friend codes.

Maya?!? Wow, that's really high-end stuff!
I was originally referred here by the link on Jason A Cox's blog, so I had hopes I wasn't alone.

Falty: I'll have a look about for that! I'd like to see it!

TRON told me that my choice in becoming a computer programmer had not been a bad one.

Oh, and there's a pretty funny SOUL TRON thing in one of the recent MAD cartoon shows on Cartoon Network.

Indeed. It's what my local highschool and college use for their animation programs.

Or at least it's what my local highschool used when I went there. For some reason one of the animation teachers was trying to get us to transition to Blender in the middle of a project we were working on in Maya. Eventually he gave up and told us all to start a new project in Maya, as if the other one never existed. I don't know if they actually still use Maya or if they decided to switch over to Blender or 3D StudioMax. Those are the only things I can see them using other than Maya.

Well, Blender IS free. I'm just getting started with that one. Oh yeah, that reminds me I have to see if the plugin worked so I can convert the Legacy lightcycle into a POV-Ray object!

Okay. Export from Blender as an .obj file. Then use PoseRay to convert that .obj file to .pov files for POV-Ray. For some reason the images used in the textures did not export, but I'm sure I'll sort that out.

So, I now have both lightcycle objects, a Tank, and a Recognizer. Haven't seen any Solar Sailers out there yet, but I'm on the case!order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill

I work in 3DS Max and am working on a TON of CGI for the Morphology fan film. Eight digital sets, five vehicles, CG costume elements, etc. You can see some of it by following the links in my sig.
