There's a hint of it on the short conversation. The name of the user his son is talking with references the MCP, not to mention the fact that when we hear the reply, the MCP's voice comes through as well as the text (which is how we saw the MCP in the real world), and the last line from him is "End of LIne" (typical MCP response to end a conversation). There's been a lot of speculation about this, but some suggest that Dillenger Snr. is actually dead in the real world and that the MCP is digital "ghost" of Dillenger Snr. I wouldn't be surprised, if it is true, what happened is that Dillenger Systems somehow found out about digitization and they tried to replicate the experiment and Dillenger tried to go in, only to end up getting "killed" during the digitization process, and his son managed to incorporate the digitized portion of himself into the MCP (much like what happened with Lora Bradley in TRON 2.0 game).

Facinating and plausiable scenario. It would tie all the Tron world stuff together. The only thing I think is a conflict is just as you mentioned happens to Lora in Tron 2.0 which poses a problem for Disney if they intend on brining her and Yori back for the next movie, assuming of course, there will be one. According to the "official" Disney Tron time line, Tron 2.0 never happened. Evidence of this is the fact that the web site behind Tron 2.0 has vanished, though honestly it would for sure be a nice nod to Tron 2.0 and maybe we'd get to see Jet? I'm not sure if Disney even acknowledges Jet. *shrug*

But I do like your scenario, I'd really like to see Flynn Sr again, his dieing was a serious bummer. I honestly really liked the angle taken in one of the fan stories here: http://www.tron-sector.com/forums/default.aspx?a=top&id=437744 and it really fits in with what happened in Tron 82 when Flynn jumped into the MCP.

I mean, they could use the same sort of backstory setup and pull details from the game as a resource and the game still not having any connection to the films timeline. So, when I mention what happened to Lora in TRON 2.0, I mean they could have that type of situation occur for Dillenger Snr. instead. I know that TRON 2.0 isn't canon to the films, but its still a valuable resource for story detail and characters. Even though the game is not canon to the film, there's details in common that are similiar (J talks about it over at the TRON 2.0 subforum). So, they can just use it as a resource and start bringing in more details and tweak them to fit into the films' timeline (for example, instead of Lora "dying" in her digitization experiment due to some unforeseen problem and Dillenger continues to live, Dillenger "dies" instead in his due to his lack of understanding while Lora is still alive and well and still married to Alan). I just wanted to clear up any confusion. But I do like your scenario, I'd really like to see Flynn Sr again, his dieing was a serious bummer. True - The 2.0 game is AWESOME and I agree, it certinaly provides even more material from which they can draw. I think they have enough material and "loose ends" that could keep them busy for a while if they wanted to.

I think the animated series may also help fill in some of the story. I remember reading about it and Bartik's name was mentioned - I got the idea that they were going to dig into his story a bit in the animated series, after all that is one hellva scar on his face.

Anyway, it's great getting to read everyone's ideas, scenarios, etc... Let's keep it going, this is great!

Actually, when I watched it most recently, I noticed that it seems someone calls HIM. You hear a phone ring, and I thought it was someone else's, but then he stands up and walks out, phone in hand... (I just ignored that for my story because I already had it written.)

So who, then, is calling HIM? (Obviously someone important enough to make him leave a work meeting... yet not someone important enough to know that's where he'll be and they shouldn't call??)
