The original TRON celebrates its 30th Anniversary this year!

Here's a 1982 featurette about the making of the original film -- heralding the breakthrough CGI (computer generated imagery) that TRON brought to cinema -- featuring Writer/Director Steven Lisberger and Co-Visual Effects Supervisor Richard Taylor.

Nice video. I always find it cool as someone into 3D animation to hear people talking about it when it was first starting to become moderately popular.

Anyone have the date memorized for Tron's 30th Anniversary? I missed last year's and I want to set a reminder so that doesn't happen again this year!

TRON was released on July 9, 1982.

I remember that Friday well. When I see friends or co-workers, I always say " Greetings Programs". It's how I pay homage.
