I can see augmented reality gaming getting a strong foothold in the future, especially with the continuing increase in portable computing power, smartphones/tablets already have some basic augmented reality software available, and the not so quick progress in video display glasses.
I'd love some of those new 720p 3D Sony HMZ-T1's but the price tag is astronomical.

Combine the two and things could get rather interesting.
