I've never played the Halo games so I don't know much about them.
But when I read that article it just reminded me of Flynn talking about Tron and Clu, and referring to them has his 'partners', and that he and his 'partners' were to work together has friends and allies.
This Microsoft program I feel could be thought of has your own personal 'partner' in that regards (which I must say I think is pretty cool
).
Or to put it another way:
"You are Contana"
"I am Contana"
"You will assist me in my day-to-day functions"
"I WILL assist you in your day-to-day functions"
"Together we're going to change the world, man!"
