Windows XP extras - how to annoy your customers

on Sunday, November, 16, 2003 7:26 PM

I spent quite a bit of money upgrading my hardware to run TRON 2.0. I don't want to have to upgrade my operating system for it, too.

In my opinion, BVI should not have released a patch which was compatible with only one operating system, and while they are at it, perhaps they ought to work out a way to patch their software without rendering saved games useless. This was a terrible business decision, and what's worse, it is starting to look like a trend.

I have to disagree, I'm sure BVI got a good deal from it. And besides there are 'work arounds' to almost anything. I dont see it as 'selling out' the customers at all. What operating system are you running now? You might appreciate XP any way, IMO its worth the upgrade just like any piece of hardware....unless you run linux But then your hard off in the gaming deparment. The 'greatest good for the greatest many' applies here. Its only for a few months anyway. As long as MON, BVI and MOST people benifit then I think its a good deal. This isint a personal attack just my own opinions.

Don't worry about it at this point, anyway. The upgrade is garbage. It's really just about unplayable. Maybe they will have it fixed in 3 mo. when everyone can use it...

Don't you wish your corruption was hot like me?

Well lets say that BVI is on the right track to some extents there Kmon. Even myself I am way out of date with my hardware and all that. I have already tried personally Windows XP professional personally even on my current equipment. And for what it's worth. Even like you said its your own opinion. Which I do respectr as well. And I'm just putting mine in here as well from personal experience of upgrading on somethings like OS's and the what nots. Sometimes upgrading to something else isn't always a good thing. Even in its best intention to help out the end users.

Honestly I think to some extent it would also be benifical for BVI and Monolith to bring out Tron to other Operating systems like Linux, Unix, Irix, Solaris, QNX, and oither equivilant operating systems that are either free to download or can get depending on the OS itself through distribution channels.

If they made the last patch more or less cross platformed compatable with the other windows environments. Then I could see it bein beficial for all of those using the windows environment

I have seen on some other games like Unreal Tournament installed and played on even a Linux ssystem and it was running perfectly fine without a problem and it was ported from a windows enviroment.

Compucore

VROOOOOOOOOMMMM!!!

To compute or not to compute that is the question at hand. Tis nobler to compile in C++ or in TASM.
