I've often thought of doing a life scale replica of the original light cycle. But I don't have a clear idea of how to accomplish this - I imagine fiberglass shell would be the way to go, but I'm not sure who could manufacture such a project.
Has anyone attempted this yet? The closest thing that I've seen is the TRON 2.0 display at E3, but that was just an off-model front end of the cycle.
Naturally, the bike would be stationary but could seat someone and a monitor or three featuring various light cycle games (armagedtron, gltron, etc.)

This is an interesting proposal to make. I would not have a clue of getting in contact with for doing such a projkect. But a good one indead. though. DO you have an idea of how to make one lifesize. And jut find a place that could make you the parts needed like a fiberglass place or a place that could mold it in a light plastic or something?

VROOOOOOOOOMMMM!!!
To compute or not to compute that is the question at hand. Tis nobler to compile in C++ or in TASM.

That sounds like a really cool project idea!
I'm not sure exactly how to build something like this, but you may want to try and utilize the dimensions that wwwmwww has worked out on his CGI light cycle model, available in this thread:

I'm sure there is a way to convert the basic dimensions in to measurements to achieve a very close proportion to the original film cycles. His model is the closest I've seen to the films - more accurate than the cycles featured in TRON 2.0.
Well, if you do embark on such a project, I hope you'll post photos of the process along the way.

I agree his cycles are spot on - and I think dimentions could be derived from the ascii file.
I think the motorcycle games at arcades are fiberglass body construction, but to have this custom made for an individual may cost a mint. I will have to check it out though.
I've thought of adding a stationary bike inside (perhaps hooked up to a throttle control) so you could at least get some exercise while playing.
