I think they're just cosmetic. Like the costume designers were wanting a way to make Sark different, so they put antennae on him. I personally don't feel there was that much thought put into it. But that's just my feelings...

Actually, I always thought that his headdress (Antennae included) was a little more remenisant of Egyptian Gods headresses. Particularly if you looked at Ra. So I guess I kinda always associated Sark with Ra because of that. There are also more character that also resemble some form of Egyptian significance. The MCP's actual form (The more human looking one) was reminisant of the Sphinx or Egyptian royalty.
But I do have to ask, why did they base some of the costuming on the Egyptian style of dress?
Anyways, as far as Sark's antennae goes, maybe he gets good reception on it?
