There is a piece of equipment here at work that I've been around for years and something about it just jumped out at me yesterday. Here is the companies logo that also appears on the side of this piece of equipment.
Then it dawned on me... I've seen that M before here.
I wonder if that's an intentional TRON reference or if I'm just seeing things.

I never actually noticed that the M was like that. I always assumed that there was just a box around the letters in ENCOM. Cool!

I see the similarity. I think it's a common logo trick though - the whole last letter wraps around the entire word(s) thing. I'm sure there are a lot of logos that employ the same feature. There's probably even a name for it. I bet one of our resident graphic art students (in school or graduated) can tell us what it's called.
Personally, I think the M-wrap-around looks better on the Encom logo - probably because it's glowing blue and I just dig that look.

Just a wraparound frame created via a stroke extension. Not sure it there is really a name for that.
