Too bad they didn't make it an actual arcade, that would be awesome. Maybe as a promotion for the new film, Disney will purchase that building and actually create the Arcade.

Actually, when you think about it, the arcade industry seems to slightly be on the rise today. I'll go to some local buffet (spelling?)/arcade in my town on any Saturday and it is packed! Unfortunatly, most people who go to arcades today are mostly nostalgic people who need a trip down memory lane (which there is absolutely nothing wrong with, in case I made that sound bad.. ), and the only younger children I see there are usually there because their parents dragged 'em along. The last time I went to 1984 in Springfeild, MO, a lot of young children there literally had no idea what they were doing.

Of course there was that one kid who was trying to "kill the games" because they wouldn't "talk to him".

Anyways back on topic, is it an abandoned building? The views I saw of it indicated that pretty clearly.

Can you tell me something about the building on the other side of the road?What is it?How old is it?
It has a nice art deco style.Can you take some pictures of it for me?^^

The last I heard, the building that was used as Flynn's Arcade now contains a restaurant. Also, the building has apparently been declared an historic landmark. So it won't disappear any time soon.

Yeah, the building is Culver City's first hospital and was built by a Dr. Foster Hull in 1925 and is now known as the Hull building.

It seems the building is now up and running as "Akasha", a fancy restaurant that opened in February 2008.

Hey I'd like to see that mpg of Flip that Restaurant, is it online anywhere?

I normally don't like those shows but if it has Flynn's arcade on it, I would have to make an exception.

At one point in my life I looked into having a huge mural air painted of the Space Paranoids billboard, but that never panned out for me.

Maybe some day.

Someone should go there and demand from the management that they put up a tremendous sized FLYNN'S poster on the wall.

I'll bet they dont know the history of their site.
