No that argument wouldn't exist because Anime doesn't have the same "massive hype"/big Hollywood gravity as a hugely hyped up movie.
I think/guesstimate 95% of those that congest Hall H and Comic con for only 1 day just for one thing like Twilight, I think attend just to see the virtual "Jonas Bros"(i.e. the actors) that make up the Twilight cast and probably could not care less for anything else at SDCC.
It's that something like Twilight generates alot of frustration and very stressful issues to the attendees that paid inflated price for their 4 day badge, and for them to effectively forced out of the panels or presentations that they've come to see by those only there for ONE panel and for 1 day only.
Pretty much forced out by a teen soap opera movie panel that was mishandled and could of/should of been scheduled better. I for one think that's ridicoulos and yes it does/did put a damper on things for many many others. order abortion pill morning after pill price where to buy abortion pill

Basic.
Actually there were like 4000+ ppl in line outside wanting to get into Hall H for the Disney 3-D panels but couldn't get in do to it being filling by 90% pf ppl that were not there to see the Disney 3-D panels.
I am sure far more than six of them like the movie Tron and would of had their minds blown at seeing the Tron Legacy stuff...

It actually was a very serious argument some years ago. Alot of "comics" people felt that anime and manga were taking space and attention away from what they thought comics and conventions should be.
And I'm not saying they were wrong. It's just that it's not a new argument. And that the lines people would like to see established to maintain their idea of appropriate material can never be drawn. Opinions are many and varied and they shift all the time. Twilight could be banned, only to discover that the New Big Thing is now the problem. That's one reason why I say a general call to decrease the Hollywood presence is something I support, as opposed to specifying one aspect.

Yes the reeling back the big Hollywood stuff would be nice if they did that.
The huge movie studio presense, influence, and it's effects make me, and many long time attendees feel like "the Dude" in "The Big Lewbowski" in a sense, having our rug (i.e what was/is fun about SDCC) being peed on.
Then having our heads shoved in the toilent and being told "just shut up and take it."
Some are not just going to "take it" any more I think.
The half joking "Twilight ruined Comic Con" protest was just an expression of that being "fed up."
It wasn't meant to really single out Twilight fans or even Twilight per se.on line abortion pill misoprostol dose abortion medical abortion pill online

I think at the core we are in agreement here. Things can and should be improved.
Thanks for the reasoned discussion. You made enough strong points that I had to stop and seriously consider my own position. Particularly in trying to construct a way the attendance of panels could be managed. If I find myself in a position to forward those notions to anyone of relevance, I will do so.

If Twilight was an anime-- that'd be Vampire Knights, actually. (It started off pretty good but got bad in the sense of Twilight bad and worse... more romance than action.)
But seriously, I signed the petition because the panel planning and crowding issues need to be addressed more than how awful Twilight is in general. Even if it wasn't Twilight, but the next big thing, the crowding issue still does need to be addressed.
I didn't want to give anyone the impression that I was doing it to take a stab at Twilight Fans even though that I feel that some of their members are truly frightening in their love for Twilight-- to the point that one of the actors actually ran in front of a car when being chased by the fans! (He survived.)
