a few of the songs were decent demos. Other than that, the site sucks. I don't think anyone would believe a story like that w/o the guy naming a source. Seems like a funny parallel, and I guess in the irony of it all, in the back of my mind it kinda throws off the validity of "flynn lives"(enjoyment factor or whatnot), which to me seems like atleast as much of a time waster.

Maybe I just have no patience when it comes to that crap.. oh well!

And how do we know that for sure? Because he said so? He's lied before, so should we immediately trust him again?

Look, I'm not saying it's time to grab the torches and pitchforks. But I think a healthy dose of skepticism can be a good thing.

We're going to be seeing a lot of fakes and scams between now and the release of the sequel in the theaters. Every time something like this comes along, play it on the safe side and don't automatically believe in it or that person until there's solid proof that the claims being made are legitimate.

It's not April Fool's the last time I checked, and nowhere on the site is there a clue to let people know that the whole thing is fake. The claims on his site were bogus and done in bad taste. He absolutely should have apologized and come clean. I'm glad that he did. Even though it required a little arm twisting.

I find it humorous that this thread has gone on for three pages of people discussing how bad it is to lie on the internet.

Am I saying we should ban this member? No. Am I saying everything he's saying is legit? No. I'm saying that we shouldn't make a huge deal out of this. We've gone on for three pages talking about how bad his activities are.

Is it possible that he lied and is somehow making a profit from every page view? Definitely. But is it also possible that what he said is legit and he just wanted to show off some fan work? Of course. If the latter is true, we're giving him a bad impression of our community.

Remember the two fake "Leaked Tron Legacy" tracks? "Fragile" and "The Distance". They were obviously fake. The people who uploaded them to Youtube said they were real. We had a 4-7 post discussion about that.

I quoted Dave to give him an "ah c'mon Dave!"-like comment, and to partially agree that to claim one's work as legit, and then backpeddle and say "I was just joking" is somewhat weak.
I then decided not to further the negativity of the thread, and cancel. Apparently I sent it through w/o my comments. I sincerely apologize. No intent to stoke the flames here.

Look, I think the mistake made here on my part is that I didn't understand the culture of the board before I joined. I had no idea it would be so offensive to you all.

But, like I've said... I never expected anyone to believe my fictional story was real -- and, so far, from all the messages and articles people have contacted me over it -- everyone sort of gets that it's a playful, fictional idea. Anyone who has asked specifically by email, I've told them it's fictional and a bit of a gag.

If I could do it again, I'd probably fact-check with you all to make it more believable, though, as you amaze me at your depth of knowledge in disproving the story that I wrote up in about two minutes...

Anyway, I see my "believability" with some of you is tarnished... I suppose there's not much chance in earning that back from you... but, yeah, the intent was always just to have some fun. My apologies to those of you who are somewhat disturbed by how this went about.
