So I've been hearing so many different rumors on the net about how many Tron sequels are being planned.
1. Tron, Tron: Legacy, and TR3N will complete the trilogy and end the movie series
2. Tron: Legacy, TR3N, and TR4N will complete the trilogy and end the movie series
3. TR3N, TR4N, and TR5N will complete the trilogy and end the movie series
Which one do you think? I think #2 is likely, and I wish for #3

Trilogy refers to three movies, but I would love to see five Tron films total.
I think the order of releases from here on out will be as follows:
-Tron: Uprising preview (Fall 2011)
-Tron: Uprising series (Summer 2012)
-Tron 3 promotional materials i.e. game, graphic novel, etc. (Fall/Winter 2013)
-Tron 3 (Winter 2013)
-Something to fill the gap (Summer 2014)
-Tron 4 promotional materials i.e. game, graphic novel, etc. (Fall/Winter 2015)
-Tron 4 (Winter 2015)
I can imagine them sticking with a patterned release schedule like this. Movie promo stuff in the fall or winter, followed by a movie release that winter. Then, considering the lack of a movie in the next year, an animated series or something to tide us over and pool interest until the movie promo stuff the next year. The possibility of a low budget movie is also possible. That's what the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie was.

Oh! There's another rumor I heard, that the main series of movies would go for three movies (counting Legacy) and there would also be a spin-off series with new characters.

I Hope TR3N comes out
in 2012...I don't want to wait!!
but I know it will be awesome..
so it will be worth the wait!
till then I will enjoy Tron Legacy

T:L, TR3N, and TR4N sounds the most logical to me for a Trilogy. At least one more movie, TR3N would be super awesome, even if you count 1982Tron and T:L as the first and second movie in the Trilogy.
Just give us more Tron!  hehe

Spin-off series could be Tron Uprising. And Kosinski was signed on to direct two more Tron movies after Legacy.
