Can I just say that I agree COMPLETLY with what's been said on here!
I also LOVE the 80s. I was born in 1979, so I spent pretty much my entire childhood growing up there.
And to be honest, I loved it! The music, the films, the fashions, the social trends, even the decorum brings back a lot of happy memories.
For me the MUSIC is perhaps the best part of it-in fact I've got an ENTIRE bookshelf FULL of 80s CDs, everything from Duran Duran, A-ha, Pet Shop Boys, Bananarama, Eurythmics, Kate Bush, Spandau Ballet, Human League, Queen, plus MANY others.
Anyway, what I want to say was, like a lot of other people, I loved the soundtrack simply because of it's 80's synth-based sound, which I think is a nice nod towards the original film.
One good example is the first time I heard Son of Flynn being played has Sam rides his bike through the streets, which actually gave me GOOSEBUMPS listening to it!
Similarly, when Flynn & Sam stole away abroad the Solar Sailor has it takes of, the synths were still there in full glory (and again, more GOOSEBUMPS!

).
That soundtrack is now CONSTANTLY on my MP3 Player, and I've lost count of the number of times I've listened to it.
There is ONE minor critism, however-there are two songs in the film that are NOT on the soundtrack album.
The music that was being played when Sam enters the Encom building & the music that was played when Sam & Flynn get onboard the Solar Sailer has it takes off (which I've mentioned above) are NOT on the album, which I think is a bit of a shame.
And has to Jeff's narration at the start-to be honest it doesn't really bother me, actually. To me, hearing those words all adds to the 'story' feel of the film itself (if that makes sense).
