Any of the other Admins got a clue on how over 40 of my posts just suddenly vanished this afternoon?

What happened that caused that to happen? ANd in sections did you loose those posts there?

Just got back from a class. Dang 40 of your posts just vanished? I haven't a clue how they vanished. Like what Compucore said, what sections were your posts at that vanished?

I wish I knew. 40 posts just completely dissappeared.
The only people who can do that are the Admins, so one of us had to have done it.
I'd just like to know why?

I'm just wondering if you might be able to check elsewhere that you might be able to check out. Its jut an idea. Is there a back up of the actuall messages that goes into the database being used there Dave?
You might be able to do a comparison there between the two.

Here's another thought. If its possible but you might have to do it on downtime though on the servers. I'm just thinking if it would be feasable to do this. If we could run some sql's together and and sift between the two. database and makde a third from the two of them. The back uo and the one here right now. And make a third. Then just upload tha back onto the site. Taking out all the duplicate posting and what ever else is missing from it.
Could it be done that way? I remember doing something like that in Oracle though. Or at least reading up on that. When using some loops to do the compare from one table to another. And what is not in one would be inserted into the third one.

I already had passed him, so that was moot.
Compucore also doesn't have Admin rights, so he can't have done it directly.
Sketch is a bit of a Boy Scout, so I don't suspect him of being paid off.
It's either a glitch or someone else deleted without telling me.
Oh well, I got to break the 2000 barrier twice!

Ack. Are there tape backups or anything of the forum? It would be a shame if the server ever crashed and things all this Tron knowledge and input over the years was lost forever.

Davetron is right I don't have admin rights to do that here. And I wouldn't do such a thing even to davetron even if I did have the admin right to do so I wouldn't have the good mind to do it in the first place. He worked hard to even surpass me in the posts. Maybe there is a glitch somewhere. Or maybe there is a upper limit somewhere for holding that many posts. I don't know off hand there. There are too many possibilities to so it could be this, that, or the other thing.
