It happened to me a couple of weeks ago. Not once, but TWICE in one week!
What happened?
Well, I got busted... more accurately, discovered on TRON-Sector by coworkers.
I don't mind really - everyone there knows what a TRON loving fan I am, and I proudly have a Sketch image displayed in my cubicle - the one of me running after the "reply" button, dressed up in a circuitry suit AND a strait jacket!
The first guy to find me is one I work closely with in my department. He was net-searching something about me and I think he came across my TRON-Sector avatar on google images or something. He asked me if he could see the rest of the animation, but I told him that was it - just a 60x60 repeating animation as you see it. I imagine he browsed quickly through The Sector a bit, but he didn't mention anything specific to me. I actually convinced him to purchase BUT... his graphics card can't handle the game (it won't run) DOH! And I was SO close to really peaking his interest in TRON!
The second guy, just a day or two later, found me here while doing some searches on .NET error messages. He's one of our programmers. One error message matched the error he was getting and it lead him here because someone had posted the text of the error for Auric to fix. Now this guy (like everyone else at the office) knows I'm a BIG TRON fan so he was going to shoot me an e-mail about this "great TRON website he stumbled across". Only when he looked at the very next post under the error post... he recognized the face of the avatar - it was me! He shot me an e-mail and was amused that he found me on TRON-Sector.
I don't mind being busted really. I don't talk to people at work about things like this, but I don't mind them knowing about my TRON-Sector activities. I LOVE this place and it would be really cool if some of them actually signed on... but I'm pretty much the only TRON fan there. Actually, this is one of just a couple message forums where I use my real name. Again, I'm amazed that I wasn't discovered by someone at work sooner!
As I said, I don't mind people I work with knowing about my TRON-Sector presence, but I know others do go out of their way to keep it a secret for one reason or another. And I also understand why it is in the best interest of some people to keep their online lives private from those they know, especially at work.
I am wondering, has any of you been discovered by a coworker here at TRON-Sector (without telling them)? If so, what was your experience?

LOL! And here I thought we were going to get a nice juicy story about you doing some jail time
People at work know I am a Tron fan, and I have had the Tron Sector up at work when people have seen my screen. Surfing at work is frowned upon, but I have to take small "breaks" every now and again or I will go bonkers. The Tron Sector forums are like pickled ginger for my brain. It cleanses the mental palette before I move on.
None of them have ever mentioned stumbling across my posts here. Although it would be easy enough to figure out it was me by my Danny Elfman/NMBC obsession along with Tron.

Yeah - that can be a dangerous thing in the work place. That is why I made the decision long ago to never sign in to any of my personal accounts from work. I'll browse TRON-Sector on my breaks at work, but I never log in from work - ever. It's too easy to get sucked in to some amusing threads and keep checking back for responses... and post more... and check back more... so I don't allow myself. It keeps me out of trouble that way.
But I take it you've never been completely discovered by a coworker yet? If you were, would you mind, or would you feel odd about it?
The first guy who busted me - I have been slowly working on getting him hooked on TRON. If only he had the right graphics card! We were planning on playing multiplayer LC - would have been great fun! In time, he just might have become a TRON-Sector member. Ya never know.

Nope. I am proud to be a Tron fan!!
I don't post anything overly embarrasing... like about my Paddington Bear collection or the fact that I secretly have a New Kids On The Block obsession.
Anything like that getting out would be embarrasing

To compute or not to compute that is the question at hand. Tis nobler to compile in C++ or in TASM.

It's funny, but this reminds me of a comic-collecting friend of mine.
He said telling your wife/girlfriend that you're a comic collector is kind of like coming out of the closet.
I laughed for 10 minutes straight!
That's what I thought of when I saw you guys talking about getting caught looking at Tron-Sector!
I'm a geek about all things pop culture and all my friends know it (and my wife is VERY understanding) so I don't care what anyone thinks about my Tron-lovin' ass!

Since I work in gaming, I actually get a little bit of respect from most people, although there is always that person who is too cool for TRON too. Mostly people get into it though.where to buy abortion pill abortion types buy abortion pill online

Hehhe, yeah I know the type. The dude who laughed at me when I pre-ordered the Tron UMD.
Tron is such a part of me though that stuff like that rolls right off my back. Tron, and how it's influenced me, is one thing no one can ever take away from me, and will always be a part of me. I know it's corny but it's true. Some things affect you like that.

No never been busted at school or work yet.
I just minimize my screen when someone walks by.
and then i erase all my history before I leave class or work everyday.
