I wish...

The time and money are not available to most members here. Besides which, we have this site, a Tron convention in cyberspace.

Too bad people on the sector live in completly diffrent places. Most are from the UK (as far as I know) and a few from other places (like me and FF) or we could organize one.
The sector is actualy like an online convention (of sorts)order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill

Okay everyone! Fire up your web cams!!

Yeah, the idea of a Tron convention has floated around for the past number of years, but nothing (that I'm aware of) has ever come to fruition. The Tron crowd is kinda small (compared to like Star Trek and Star Wars) so it would be hard to coordinate something and expect people to actually show up, unfortunately

EDIT: I just read your profile and you are in the UK. Maybe you *would* be able to have one there, as I think there are Tron fans concentrated there. Make it happen!

Well... Traahn and I had a very tiny Tron convention, within another convention. It was great.

It would be great. But we are sread out too far for this. ANd I mean from TS itself. we have people from Canada, UK, US, I think Antares is from Argatina I think, I do not remember where offhand. She had mentioned it a while back some where in another thread. Its a wide group here for Tron convention.

LOL, Lurkinghorror is right. If we're all ever going to meet each other, we're going to have to do it via some other form, like comic book conventions, or something

There's a focus of Tron followers in California so I'm sure they could have a mini-Tron convention there. But who all, from outside of Cali, is going to fly to California for a Tron convention? We'll have to mix it with a Disneyland excursion.where to buy abortion pill abortion types buy abortion pill online

Yeah. There doesn't seem to be many Canadians shown the ways of the Tron up here (Well... the only other die hard Canadian Tron fan I know of is Compucore. T_T ) And I, being the poor college student I am, won't be able to go anywhere for such a convention. So TS as a digital con works for me.

Don't feel so bad Kamui. I am still looking for a job over here. And it has not been fun either. So we are in the same boat on this one. I can relate though on how you feel in being a college student. It would be awsome to meet up with some of the babetrons and guys here.

I attend one or two cons every year. Perhaps the best place to meet up with some of you CA folks would be the San Diego Comic Con. It's *huge* and offers sci-fi fans quite a bit. An even better meeting place IMO would be the DragonCon held in Atlanta every year. It's probably the largest general sci-fi show in the country and is always a good time (I'll be there this year in full adicolor gear ).

Even if the number of die-hard Tron fans increased by 1000 fold, sadly there still wouldn't be enough interest for a con of it's own. FWIW though I do meet several collector/dealer friends a couple of times a year at various shows and we always wear Tron shirts .

Hey Kamui/Compucore, would either of you know what brand of cereal released the mini-Tron frisbees and/or yo-yo's many years ago? It's probably a safe bet that Shreddies had one of the offers, but I've never seen a box to confirm this.

If either of you runs across a box for either promotion, I would gladly trade you a vintage Tomy figure mint on card or a loose tomytronic Tron game for it. Seriously .

What about me? Huh? Huh?!

Hehehe. I wonder which other Tron-Sector members are from Canada. I know there's more of you . . .

If there was a convention near the border, I'd attend it for sure. But most of them happen in SoCal, which is impossible for me to visit at this moment (lack of enough funds and time).

But as everyone has said, Tron-Sector is a virtual convention, and it's a place we can visit any time.

I had no idea you were Canadian too! I thought it was just me and Compucore. ^^;;;

Anyways... I actually DO live near a boarder. Actually, the US is just 9 hours away from where I live.

I've been wondering about a TRON-Sector convention for a long time. But every time I think about it, it ends with a sour dose of reality.

It would be great to be able to meet everyone in person. I'd really enjoy that. I think we all would.

But the reality is (as it has been mentioned), we're all scattered about. Many of us are American... but I doubt many of us Americans even live with reasonable driving distance... or even the same state. And there are a good number of Canadians - but do any of you even life within driving distance of each other... or any of us Americans? Let us not forget we've also got a healthy number of members in the United Kingdom. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that none of our UK friends live within driving distance of any of the Americans or Canadians... and they may not even live within driving distance of each other. I believe we've got a couple members in Germany, Russia... and a few other countries on the other side of the great pond (sorry - I'm blanking now).

And what would a convention be if we could not all (or at least most) make it?

The cost of hosting a convention is not cheap. Funds need to be raised. A universally accepted place would need to be established. We'd all need to figure out when we could gather. Most of us hold down a day job and have a lot of bills to keep up with. Taking time off to travel can hurt in the pocketbook. Not to mention not all of us like to travel. At least I do not like to travel.

I could go on, but I'm sure we all know it ain't gonna happen.

That's just the reality of it.

BUT...

As it has also been stated, we meet up here every day!

We share ideas, jokes, memories, stories, photos, videos, music, creative projects, our love of TRON, and the list goes on and on!

This forum allows us to meet up whenever we have the time to do so. We can post at our convenience, and people can respond at their convenience. It works out great!

Perhaps in the years to come, a greater level of interactivity will be added. I'm sure in the next 20 years or so, we'll all be able to meet up in a virtual environment so real, it would be very close to meeting up in person. Well, that is if the technology is affordable, anyway.

But who'd thinking about 20 years from now? Ok, I am, a little, but that's me - always looking ahead to the cool stuff I don't have access to today. Can't help it.

For now though - let us continue to share in our love of TRON and all the great things we have in common among us!

...

But... if there ever is a convention - y'all just make sure it's on the American east coast - northern area, ok?

We could have it at the Meadowlands!

Seriously though, it's been a bajillion years since I've been to a convention and I've really never had the desire to go to another one. However, if I knew that some of the sector members who live in the greater NYC metropolitan area were going to meet up at a local sci-fi convention, or maybe the auto show, I might go just for the heck of it.

But it'd have to be an event that none of us mind being at regardless of the opportunity to meet sector members; that way, in case we don't get along in person we could just enjoy the event. Hey, you never know, you know?

I've been working the Shreddies angle for two years now. Closest i've come is a fansite that had some box shots, just not for the TRON promo. I have sent email in to Post but haven't gotten a response.
