No, Spore is quite possibly the greatest game of all time.

Spore works like this:

You start out as a single-celled organism. Here, you must eat dots. Essentially, Pac-Man with free movement.
Eventually you evolve into a creature. Here, you move your creature around an environment where you must mate with other creatures in your species and befreind or kill other species. Throughout this stage, you will unlock extra parts for the creature editor, which lets you create your creature however you want.
Next is the tribal stage, which is like an RTS. You have to command your species around the environment and take over other tribes.
Eventually, you go on to the civilization stage, which is like Sim City and Risk combined. You use editors to create buidings for your city, and then create propaganda planes and military vehicles (land, sea, and air).
When you have control of the entire planet, you finally progress to the space stage. Visit other planets, make peace, kill millions, be the empire, be a savior, start life, do missions. Whatever the heck you want.

The neat part is, all of the content you see in the game is user created. That means, when you play the game, there is a small chance that you will see one of those TRON things I showed above. The game is made up of several easy-to-use editors. They are:

Single-Celled editor: Edit your single celled organism with colors and attacks.
Creature editor: Create your creature. Check out the Creature Creator (pick it up at your local store for $10).
Building Editor: Create buildings for your cities.
Vehicle Editor: Create aircraft, boats, and ground vehicles for military or propaganda purposes.
UFO Editor: For your spaceship that you will use in the Space Stage, you can use the UFO editor. I've seen some pretty sweet ones so far (Planet Express Ship, X-Wing, Tie Fighter, Millenium Falcon, Enterprise, Star Destroyer).

In short, it's a game. And a freaking awesome one at that. About what we've come to expect from Will Wright over the years.

Cool, I heard you get an acheivement if you get to the space stage in under a day.

They're like badges you get that are displayed on your MySpore page. For example, all Xbox 360 games have acheivements. Some acheivements are really simple (i.e. Play as Izzy Sparks at least once in Guitar Hero Aerosmith), or really hard (i.e. Get a gold medal in every challenge map in Portal).

I've taken a break from Spore to eat. Because if I don't eat, I will starve, be unable to process energy, and therefore be unable to breathe. I would do it for the lawls, but I don't think there would be too many lawls...

Anyways, my creature has an incredibly long and complex name that I don't know how to spell. It's also a carnivore, and I rock. Right now, I'm nearing the end of the creature stage. I love RTS's so I'm looking forwards to the tribal stage. I also love Civilization (Civ DS rocks!), so the Civ stage excites me too.

And Spore's space stage includes one of the most dazzling effects ever, total destruction of a planet. Here's what Asteroids has...

What's DRM mean?

DRM = Digital Rights Management.

It's really bad in Spore to the point that you can only install it three times period. Bioshock had this issue and I'm disappointed in this install limit being pushed to punish the owners of the games again. (I think you can get the numbers back if you uninstall properly but the thing is, there shouldn't be an install limit to start with. I fail to understand why Spore has much stricter DRM than The Sims 2 does! TS2 only requires the physical game disc which is fiiiine with me.)

There's already bugs within Spore that crashes. The copy I had crashed when I quit the game and I'm just not really impressed with the game itself. Feels like it's just way too much unnecessary "grinding" with trying to impress everyone and collecting all of the building parts. x_X
