The bar code on 'http://www.flynnlives.com/images/forums/useruploads/magazine.jpg' ended up being the actual bar code for the number below it 121985, or probably meaning december 1985, the date on the magazine.
If you're interested, it's worked out like this, after manually going through the bars and measuring their width multiples and figuring out it's in Code 128:
11010000100 - Start code A, describes character set used
10011100110 - 1
11001110010 - 2
10011100110 - 1
11100101100 - 9
11101001100 - 8
11011100100 - 5
10001100010 - value of 38 (checksum, I didn't verify if right)
11000111010 - STOP
11 - TERMINATION BAR

This blows. I was on before 1pm, once it hit I got the "experiencing traffic" sign, than when it cleared at 1:02 LA was sold out. Damn, I was waiting all day for this too...
