Some time back my pal Doug TenNapel (creator of Earthworm Jim, The Neverhood, Project GeeKeR & Catscratch) made a pitch to Disney for a TRON remake. This was long before the sequel was put into production.
In his version Encom is a full-on games company, Flynn & Dillinger are closer in age, travel is possible both for humans into the computer world and for programs into the real world, and Alan & Lora (renamed Lori in the pitch) are engaged and working together on an AI program called TRON, who is much younger and more innocent than the original. He pitched it as the first of a proposed trilogy of films.
