Thanks mayng! We use Reason 4 to generate source sounds, and buss them into channels in Sony Acid for mixing with superior plugins. It's all soft synth excepting drum samples from a library we've built over the last 10 years or so since we started collaborating.

I've been checking out the new FL. Haven't used it since 1999 It has come a long way. Seems like a solid platform.

You have any samples of your tracks online anywhere like MySpace. Would love to hear.

I didn't mind the -phatron mix. Don't listen Achilles, it's not as bad as he makes it seem. To be honest, I was half-expecting the theme from "Barney & Friends" with that write up

I don't particularly care for Country Music, but I don't necessarily want it banned from YouTube.

It crosses the line of fan based material, and makes the character of the concept trailer seem mediocre to me.

To take this video to promote doesn't show your potential, making music is fun, but you have to have some character if your going to stand on two feet.

The difference is making a fan based video, maybe showing off some of the race scene and your work - that may not look like spam.

Or making a video production for your band plastered in full effect without changing the name of the video to suit the audience. SPAM@@!!!!!

While I think achilles could have put things more . . . diplomatically early on in his replies, I do largely have to agree with this statement.

We've been seeing a lot of folks "hitching their star" to the wagon that is Tron Legacy, lately. (I know I mangled that idiom, but I thought it sounded better in this particular case. ) Tons of people adding their music to the trailer, and/or setting up sites trying to sell you something based on the sudden popularity of Tron. Tron has become "cool" again. (Not that it ever wasn't cool, but you know what I mean.)

There's nothing wrong with this, per se. As long as the promotion of the artist, isn't too blatant. That Cryda Luv' remix didn't plaster logos all over the trailer, and didn't try to sell something to anyone. I think putting logos in the trailer and trying to sell your music is going a little too far.

Just my personal take on the matter. The only time the admins will step in on matters concerning trying to sell things, is when the item(s) in question are completely unrelated to Tron. (Or the opposite will be the case, when they're such a lamebrained scheme that nobody will be interested anyway, like with "willtron2beawesome".)

While I personally don't care for this remix, we'll leave it up to the members to decide whether they like it or not and whether they want to purchase the remix track.

I really, really, really hate to say this…

…even though I'm an electronic music fan (don't worry I listen to other stuff too), there's no chance of me going to buy this track for a few reasons.

1.) You labeled your track as an official remix (not counting the small detail in the video description, most people won’t read it).
2.) You attached you’re logo and information to content that you haven’t even created as if its your demo reel.


I hate to be cold and calculating (and I am), but you could have gone about this more professionally.



As a 3D computer animation student, I know exactly how it feels to work four to six days straight without more than one or two hours of sleep a night (and without form of income [ya know…it gets you really cranky, especially when your old computer breaks down]).

What’s worse is I also know how it feels to have my own creations stolen from me. Usually the stealer either plasters their name all over my work and (shed tear) mutilates it after they’re finished using my stolen work.

I’m rarely lucky to find my stuff after I’ve been robbed or do anything about it when that happens. Do I get angry when this happens? Of course, but I’m also sad and feel used at the same time.


Please use some common sense when making any kind of fan-art or fan-remix. There’s a difference between creating your own content and clearly explaining that it’s a fan-tribute, and pasting your name or your band all over footage that you clearly didn’t make.
