i must agree that if its not on PC i will be very disappointed for 2 very in portent reasons
1. i only have a wii and seeing how Nintendo likes to screw with controller configurations and not have them changeable has ruined some games i know of. also they tend to make online play a bust no talking what so ever you would need a head set to play a good 1st person game
2. map making is impossible on all but a few select console games and quite frankly whats a game after you finish it and it gets old abortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

looks like inhouse game (not unreal engine or anything like that).. looks a bit dated actually (for a PS3/Xbox/PC game i kind of expected a bit more detailed bikes given the power of consoles), but its too early to judge i guess..

that's a really short tease. i noticed that the bike and characters look different than the movie trailer, other than that there really isnt much to say. (and they stuck with the grid-like road pattern, i preferred more diagonal/random stuff, making it more like roads iso 'grid'). i hope the world is big and explorable, with passages/rooms/corridors...

tron 2 for ps3/xbox only makes sense.. i suspect a pc version as well.. and dont count on modding (its a bit of passe).. it'll probabably level-oriented.

for some reason it would've been more interesting if it had the pure retro wireframe look&feel of the original tron with the power of current hardware in real time, incl. raytrace.. for now it looks a bit bland/empty, its just cycles and grid, surely theres more potential..

..and a trilogy? if anything, another sequel would be fine.. or better, they need to do this one right.order abortion pill morning after pill price where to buy abortion pillwhere to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online

Nice, I can't wait until Dec 12.

I hope the game has a single player campaign that is long, and good. Immerse me in the Tron universe for at least 20 hours; preferably much more. None of this 5-10 hours of gameplay nonsense. Strong story, with STRONG gameplay. I need AI that is actually realistic, and not the typical "reach point A, and enemies magically know where you are and open fire." Also, an environment that is 1000 times more interactive than Tron 2.0's; and NPCs that have a life, where your interactions with them are 1000 times better than Tron 2.0's. No MMORPGs please. And an unlock where you can play an emulated version of the original Tron arcade game. I hope the game is 'built for the PC' and PC players and then ported to consoles; rather than the other way around. These are my personal preferences, anyways.

If all of the above criteria are met, I will buy it for the PC AND the PS3.

I think it's probably a given that this will be made for PC, too. The film itself looks as if it will be on the cutting edge of visual splendor and technology. The game would need to be made on PCs to do the same in the video game realm, using DirectX 10 and everything.

I'm being cautiously optimistic about this game and movie, especially since this video game teaser is so fast. However, I, too, want the following:
*A HUGE explorable world inside ENCOM computer system
*An unlockable - preferably the old arcade TRON games
*High replay value with SEVERAL Hours of gameplay
*Another unlockable - Space Paranoids from the 1st film
*3rd unlockable - play as characters from the original film
*Play as Kevin Flynn of course
*Downloadable upgrades (I own PS3)
*A special promotion containing 2 free tickets to the movie

I hope both the game and movie are good. We'll see. abortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

Here's an article about Valve and their philosophy toward their customers. I wish Disney would get a clue and take some pointers from Valve.

http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2009/11/valve-listening-to-pc-gamers-frequent-updates-equal-success.ars
And I'm not just referring specifically to the way that Valve treats their PC customers. This is how every publisher should treat all their customers, regardless of platform.

Valve doesn't have a perfect record, either (e.g. the Left4Dead 2 kerfuffle, which I personally thought was overblown). But out of all the publishers out there, they have the perception of being the most customer friendly and listening to feedback. They give their customers what they're asking for.

Who knows, maybe Disney Interactive have changed their attitude with the big management shakeup a couple of years back. One can only hope.

The only reason I keep making such a big deal about this is because we're talking about TRON. TRON! There can't be such a thing as a bad TRON game. There must not be. I really hope that myself, and all of us, are not let down.

@TronFAQ_

you're familiar with The 400 Project, right? I think pretty much any and every game developer should keep it handy. If you read through it, a lot of these things are pretty true.

Some people's expectations are very very high about this game.

It's alright to have such high expections;
however, if/when the game doesn't meet those really high expectations some of the people here are going to be very very disappointed when the game doesn't match their criteria and how they want it to be.

When a person has more pragmatic or zero expectations, then a person won't get so angry, bitter and disappointed that the game didn't meet some gold pedastal echelon of criteria.
Just an rhetorical observation, nothing more, so please don't take what I wrote as absolute admonition directed at any one here.

I only hope for a solid game with good controls and a
non-intrusive camera, and is at least fun.
Just my two cents.

I'm not sure what I should be expecting from the game...

I wonder if Disney would release Tron Legacy PC game through Steam because my computer is currently dead. (I'd need to rebuild it so I can regain the use of DVD drive so that's why I'm unable to play Tron 2.0 with dvd drives being unplugged from the half-dead motherboard.)

I'll see when the specs come out for the game itself over here. Since We don't know what it will take for the PC Based version will take. If my last build up will handle it then it might work since it is a single core 3.2 ghz machine. But I have to see if I can get a half height video card for it since it is a Lenovo thinkcentre case that I have there. and about a 3 gigs of memory and a 500 gig hard drive.

The others are 1.6 to 2. ghg amd and intel cpus on them. No where near close porbble for this new specs for the game itself.

Thing is.. Disney isn't the kind of game maker/publishers like those large game companies.. Disney isn't Valve, or epic games.. They aren't the kind to run servers or rip off kids with monthly fees for MMOs.. It's not really their thing.. however.. Tron, being based on a gameworld is the #1 reason for them to put comparitavely more effort into it than any other random game. They do have an edge if they have the right inhouse engine.. They have a franchise here comparible to something like Aliens.. But I doubt that their current stuff is at the same league as Unreal Engine (or Cryengine).. It needs upgrading, they need more programmers/specialists making it more state of the art, it needs a bit more polish engine wise.. A bit more force behind it.. This isn't Wall-E, this is Tron..

No steam.. Bring it out on a physical CD for PC (and consoles).. and I'd rather not play as characters from the movie.. The movie sets out the world. the game should be on its own.. And I would not want to see the game interweave with the movie..

We'll see.

A lot of blah.. I only agree with the world being huge.. I never liked the original arcade game.. But Space Paranoids has appeal.. I suspect that there will be an arcade game within the game, incl. a jukebox with 80s tunes (however they will probably go with Journey and not-of-my-fav tunes). Maybe they'll incorperate some 80s MAME emulated games.. But I doubt that.. I'm mostly interested in Tron world (if I were to make a Tron game I'd limit it to that world), and world-rules, and iconic vehicles... I have trouble seeing Real World gameplay (other than inside Encom Building Exploration)..

There's still a year off for release of anything movie or game.. That's a long time, but at the same time it's not.. Whichever.. the movie is more important than the game.. And I keep my hopes high for anything more Tron related gamewise for next-gen consoles (once things get 40 times faster, making infinite worlds possible as well as raytrace and stuff like that).. It's really a shame that the screens show cubic environment mapped cycles ISO raytraced surfaces (and transparent reflective floors).. I'm sure it's possible already (maybe it's a viable option for PC version).. For me the game doesn't necessarily have to come out at same time of the movie.. I'm still dreaming of that ultimate next gen Tron game (world) that has same quality in graphics as the movie...

Ugh, I just noticed a visual thing that bother me about the video game: helmets with face-shields on characters. Like the Xbox version of Tron 2.0; like Halo; like the Tron Legacy concept trailer. Since they're in the video game trailer, it probably means they're worn in the movie. Yes, it's a nitpick, but just my personal artistic view that they don't belong in the Tron world. The movie takes place inside a computer; not on the surface of Mars.

And it looks like maybe the old detailed circuitry patterns some of us knew and loved in the old Tron have been moved aside to make way for streamlined circuitry swipes in the evolved characters. Yes, it looks cool still... but I hope some of the characters have more of the older style. Also, the programs' suits in the game (thus, film) look like they might be the plasticized variety we saw in the concept trailer, as well. It remains to be seen if I like that or not. In the end, it looks like the concept trailer's visuals weren't very far off from what we might actually see in the new film; no matter how much Kosinski thinks the old concept trailer is outdated.

Despite the minor nitpicks, my fascination and anticipation of the new film and video game is sky high. Can't wait!

I just don't know why the characters/cycles look different than the original trailer.. Personally, I liked the helmets (even if its in a Tron world, it doesnt come over as martian to me. it just looks cool).. And I definitely like the cycle (and screens) from last years comiccon.. Id want to be driving that one in a game (especially on those highways, with or without headlight), its a perfect stylish design.. Also, the previous screens showed the trails of the discs in a more swirly manner (which I like), and i don't get the 2 appearing in the middle of open space (can you drive through it??). For now the game looks a bit like a mix between the trailer and Tron 2.0 (without the glowing outlines on walls).. Maybe its a sort of a inbetween (before tron 2) movie thing.. IMO it needs to stay fresh, just like latest screens..

And about story.. Sure I like a story.. But like f.i. Aliens vs Predator game.. AvP1 as a concept worked perfect (dispite lacking much of a story.. all it did was enhance on that what the Aliens movie laid out in terms of world/weapons and aliens coming out of nowhere, a continious suspense just like the movie).. AvP2 had a (new) story (and new human characters), but in general AvP (with now dated graphics) worked better for me (and still does).. Story is nice, but the formula needs to work..

I speculate that the game *may be* a prequel to Tron Legacy.

May explain why the light cycle looks like a in-between design of Flynn's "1989 Model" and the "5th Gen" Light Cycle design shown at SD Comic Con' 2009 TL panel and at D23.

Another piece of evidence supporting this: Almost all games based on Disney movies take place before or after the movie. However, most take place after the movie so that the game can have an original storyline where the developer can do anything and at the same time have flashback sequences so that the player can "relive" the movie.

Considering that all movie games are released before the movie comes out, I personally like the idea of a prequel game.

Now, Disney, look:

-The Wii has that new MotionPlus addon.
-Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 had a Frisbee Golf minigame exclusive to the Wii version and used MotionPlus.
-Frisbees are weapons in TRON.

Disney, feel free to completely misunderstand the point of this post and make TRON Frisbee Golf instead of some kind of onslaught mode where you must kill enemies by throwing your disc like a Frisbee from a fixed position.

I'll play any mode, but I'm best at LC.

Jademz Wrote:Hmmm. I know that was a teaser, and as mentioned very brief, but it was low quality.

My opinion - If it's for consoles and not for a PC I will be - nvm.

I don't have a bad attitude, I have this view point that when they build a console that costs them more money to sell, then spam us dedicated to PC -whom most mod up, spend alot of time and learn things that matter - on games founded and funding these now console games, where my hard earned money goes to a game for console gamers, that's the joy I feel for those who may not have a computer capable of playing the latest stuff. Sorry.. it's not a rant, in many cases it's all true. Maybe not in TL, but it's true, and coincidentally, it's very annoying that the successor of my favorite game may never be played by me.

The game publishers are being completely arrogant trying to make a quick buck by hosting servers and support for only one or more consoles, but not for PC.

Glad you found that ShadowDragon1, nice work! I'm keeping my hopes high for TL the game.
Dev companies are afraid of PCs now because of piracy. I think it's a pretty sound decision, but I'm sure they could come up with something less drastic than just omitting the PC from the equasion entirely.

Oh well, I'm hoping it DOES come out for the PC. I'm not getting it for the PC if it's more of a platformer/ frerunningish thing like Assassin's creed, but it will make it much easier for thiose who know how to.... rip the models and put them in Gmod...

But I think you guys can calm down, it's VERY RARE that an Unreal Engine game doesn't get ported to the PC.
