I got the graphic novel too! I was surprised when I read a thread elsewhere that people said that the graphic novel had more to it than the comics did. They were right. o_O

(I have both the comics as well!!)

A snippet from one of Kevin Flynn's books possibly explains the signal recieved by Alan's pager thing:

SPOILER... Mouse Over To Read:
Flynn encoded a method to for someon within the Grid to send and/or recieve a special digital pulse that can be recieved even from within a "closed system" i.e The Grid.

The pager Kevin gave to Alan was most likely modified by Flynn to be able to recieve such a digital pulse from The Grid, just as the large cellular phone Flynn built and gave to his wife to call him (that would send a wireless digital pulse to him directly) in case of a serious emergency... like it was time for the baby to come out. lol It's sort of a "backdoor" that can allow a signal through.

No one knows if it was Clu that discovered the means to send a signal, or if the digital pulse was sent by Anon, the system monitor sometime between the time period of Tron:Evolution and Tron Legacy...

I agree with you kia. But there was one thing that I had a brain fart on it. in the graphics novel they mentioned that Flyn had also made the MCP. I thought that the mcp was made by dillinger there. Starting from a chess program all the way back. Wasn`t that the way it was supposed to be. Or was this like another twist from the beginning for the cartoon version. To make it a little different for the comic version.

I am waiting for the second comic book from the local comic book store as well over here. Plus there was another book of some sort tha cost about $40 US that is coming out for Tron legacy I think. It is a couple of dollars more

To compute or not to compute that is the question at hand. Tis nobler to compile in C++ or in TASM.

I already explained that away.

Just about everyone contributed to MCP's creation. Didn't Flynn say that he used to play games with MCP in the past when MCP was just a chess program? :X

Yeah I do remember that. As a beta tester or an Alpha tester. But usually doesn't touch the coding if he was doing that with the group. I could be wrong unless he had access to it as well to do the updates to the coding itself. Anyways I had oinly thought that he had tested the application out and not done anything else to it beside like report back any findings about what could be improved on it.

Remember what the MCP said though: "No one User wrote me." I think that implies both that multiple people contributed to him, and that he's added to himself.

This is true when he went into kind of stealing other programs and bring them into his main code there. I can't wait to see that other one that Disney has there that costs about $40 (About $45 Canadian approximately.when converted.) I want to take a look into that about the art of tron legacy /evolution.

Tron Unit Wrote:The MCP "appropriated" most of his programs and sub-routines. Remember he started out as a simple chess program and evolved into a meglomaniacal AI.

I think Betrayal adds a whole lot to the film. There are details in int that aren't in the film. The art work is amazing. I like that it doesn't take much time to make it through the book.

It be cool if dance star mickey or Rock Star Mickey showed up in tron.

Yeah, Legacy isn't really a complete movie without reading this. Which is neat for fans who got the book, but probably unfortunate for the general public who only saw Legacy. The movie may have reviewed better if it stood alone better.

It's cool to see Tron in action on the Grid in Betrayal, and to see the collaboration between Flynn, Clu and Tron.

The writing in Betrayal was more true to character than the film.
