If it's the final part of Flynn Lives, that would partly explain it. But the part with the Dillingers sounds like a set-up for a sequel, not a part of FL.
Again, these things being filmed for a potential sequel campaign is not surprising. It would be surprising if it were included on the TL DVD if Disney have no interest in making a sequel, however.on line abortion pill misoprostol dose abortion medical abortion pill online

LWSrocks, I can't believe you're not understanding this: without Dr. Lora Baines (now Lora Baines-Bradley), there wouldn't have been any travel between the real world and computer world at all. She helped pioneer the Shiva Laser and is VERY important to the TRONiverse. Dr. Walter Gibbs also helped, too, but Lora was the primary one behind this. This is why there were some people (including myself) who wanted to see her in TRON: Legacy. |

My theory is this:
I think the footage discussed is real but I have no idea what it means or if it will be on the DVD. I'm hoping for a sequel like I've never hoped for a sequel in my life but this is my guess. Harry Knowles wants a Tron sequel. Harry Knowles also thinks he is "Movie God." He thinks he can use his influence and heavily visited web site to strong arm Disney into making said sequel. The story he issued several weeks ago that his sources say a sequel was close to being green lit did not go into much detail as to who he heard this from and whether they are in any position to know anything. For the most part I think Harry Knowles is a pompous knob but if we get a Tron 3 and he has anything to do with helping it along I will be very impressed with him.
I think there is a lot of smoke and Internet mirrors involved with the subject of Tron 3, but I'm not sure it means yay or nay yet.

ComicBookMovie.com, which quite often deals with movies and TV shows that are not in fact based on comics, has reported the rumours of TR3N citing TRON-Sector as primary source.
I am very excited the more I hear about these shots etc. I for one do certainly hope that it is true, despite my earlier skepticism.
LWSrocks, you have some great contributions to the site but Im with Kia on this one - once or twice is ok to make clear your opposition to a character, but like it or not Lora and Yori are pretty important to the overall story and universe. It's pretty cool to think that a cast member frequents the forum, if so then Cindy you did a great job in a very male-dominated franchise!

Like it or not Harry Knowles does have his sources and very rarely do people who have connections within a industry indulge the source. In fear of that specific person that leak the information will become known as a leaker thus compromising their position.
Disney is most likely not going to give any kind of Sequel information until after the release of the Tron Legacy on Blu-Ray. I think at this point they don't want to off shift focus on the release of Tron Legacy with and official announcement of a sequel. This could cause Blu-Ray sales to drop because people will just wait for the sequel and go for a 1,2,3 type package. Thus use renting as there option instead of buying. I imagine you are likely correct. It doesn't really serve Disney to announce anything at this point. The hardcore fans want some assurance the franchise will continue but for the average joe, they aren't going to think about it a whole lot until they walk into Wal-Mart and see the massive mound of Tron DVDs and Blu-Ray by the checkout stand and after that not again until a month or so before a sequel is released in the theater. Even though I'm not a big fan of Harry Knowles, I imagine his source that says a sequel is close to being greenlit probably is in the know more than the posts from a new member on the board that says a Disney employee told them that plans for a sequel have been cancelled and there is no way they will open the door on it unless some kind of miracle happens.
As far as the discussion about Yori, I'm thinking part of that depends on how well they perfect the de-aging effects by the time a sequel is made. With Clu he was suppose to be menacing and scary so it was ok that the effect wasn't flawless. If Tron and Yori are in the sequel and they would be characters you are suppose to identify with and root for the effect is going to have to be flawless.

Yeah Harry Knowles as much as I don't like him personally either. I believe him way more then any person that claims to have somebody in the know at Disney on this board. I can just as easily say I got off the phone with somebody that works as a Janitor for Disney and he overheard a conference meeting about the continuation of the sequel for Tron Legacy starting in May blah blah. Which makes my post just as credible as his minus that I discredit my post. I've felt kind of the same way about that. In an early interview I remember someone saying that they intended a trilogy and it sounded like it initiated with Legacy. The most logical way to do this now would be to film parts 3 and 4 back to back ala Lord of the Rings / Matrix Reloaded/Revolution.

I trust Jim Hill of Jim Hill Media far more than I trust Harry Knowles for acurate information. And Jim Hill said this all may have been a few studio exec's idea to gauge interest in a possible sequel to Tron Legacy. Personally I think if they can't figure out whether or not to make a third movie they're frackking idiots over at house of mouse.
But you know what's really good for all of us - Lassiter really likes Tron, and since he's on the board and is pretty much the dude in charge, we'll get our third pic.

That's true, even if it's not the massive hit they were wanting--it IS making them some money. And you can really tell that they too, are huge fans. That really means something. They WANT to make another one for the same reasons we want another one--they enjoy it.

Also it was mentioned before how a lot of money went into making the 'Tron Universe' through digital domain mastery. I am sure that reusing a light cycle model for the next film will save a ton. How much did it cost Toy Story 2 or 3 to make? All of the main characters have already been modeled. Another thing to think about is merchandising, we have seen a good amount of toys and other Tron Legacy related items popping up. This will be Disney's Science Fiction trilogy, appeals to children and adults.

I think an even better example is how Starship Troopers 2 was possible to make for $7 million and Starship Troopers 3 for $15 million, by reusing the ship and character/bug models from the first movie.
A ton of the money that needs to be spent has *already* been spent. A lot of the work is already done. We have the Grid, the vehicles, even the costumes. All we need is the script, director, crew, and actors, and a lot less money than last time.

I have been surprised that the toys seem to be selling decently. I have seen kids in toy aisles excited about it. With the exception of Star Wars, toys based on movies that were based on toys, i.e, Transformers and G.I. Joe, a lot of movie based toy lines rarely get past the initial wave, The Avatar, Last Airbender, Terminator and Star Trek toys seemed to be real stinkers and stores are still trying to be rid of them. It seems to me that a movie can be very popular in the theater but have a tough time transitioning over into other ways to make revenue. Plus, I would imagine the soundtrack is one of the best selling soundtracks of the last few years.
