Right. The idea behind this, though, since there aren't always hard-and-fast answers, is that each question will be its own thread--because you know that in spite of the FAQ and all, someone is still going to want to discuss it further. And that way, you have everything in the same thread, no searching around, no trying to remember what you or someone else said previously, no responding the same thing to the same argument in ten different threads and having to link back to what you or others said in other threads, etc.
And then everyone can just be directed to that thread. No more wasting your time saying "well as I said over there" or "but didn't we come up with a good solution/explanation for that in another thread?" or"dude, we've answered this ten times," all we have to do is say, "here is the thread, read it, if you still have a question or idea afterward, post in that same thread." If there is ONE thread, and it's a sticky, then there is NO EXCUSE for someone to start a new one because they were too lazy or search, or to read other threads (and yes, sometimes one thread on a topic will still be active on the first page when someone else will post a new one).

Yes I think for questions that are asked over and over we should have consolidation.
But for unique and new topics and questions they deserve their own threads. |
Yup, and that's precisely my idea. We get a lot of original stuff in here, but often it gets lost in rehashing the same things OVER AND OVER AND OVER in ten different threads.
So, mods? Would you be willing to sticky these if I make them?
