Just follow me here. It will probably get a little difficult to understand.
What makes Identity Discs lethal in the Grid?
Here are my thoughts. When a disc is given to a program, let's call him Program X, it's supposed to be used by Program X and him only.
Therefore, when said disc is thrown at another program, let's call him Program Y, it is lethal to Program Y because that isn't his disc.
This is what I thought. But when I saw Legacy, we see that Tron takes the disc off another program, but he isn't injured by it one bit.
So what exactly makes an Identity Disc lethal?

Personally I think it's just one of those things you'll have to accept. It could have something to do with the discs being able to sense velocity and become dangerous based on how much force they sense they're being swung with or thrown with. Maybe, but I doubt this explanation is the case.
I mean, obviously it's not that the edges are just really sharp/hot/whatever, because they hold onto them with their palms on the edges all the time and never injure themselves.
I'm going to go with their having some sort of technology where the programs/users can "communicate" with them somehow, so that they "know" not to injure whoever is holding them. This is really simplistic language that I am using, so jazz it up on your own with technical terms and the like!
You must be able to control them "mentally" somehow, because they can take their discs off and choose to activate them without verbal commands or button pushing and use them as weapons or they can take them off, toss them around to one another, access data on them, so on without anyone getting hurt and also, again, without buttons or verbal commands.

I feel the same, way. I'll accept it, I'll just choose to ignore it. As for buttons, I've seen pictures of the prop used in Legacy, and there seems to be a button.
The discs obviously "know" the Program, because they come back to the program.

I dunno. The suits are remote-control activated, so why not the discs? And if there WAS a button, why wouldn't they edit it out? Seems pretty sloppy to allow it to be shown in the film if it wasn't deliberate--anybody catch a glimpse of any zippers, too?on line abortion pill misoprostol dose abortion medical abortion pill onlinewhere to buy abortion pill abortion types buy abortion pill online What do you want? The suits are remote controlled because they needed a fast way to activate all the suits without having multiple techs running around switching everyone on manually. The discs are different because they have specific lighting seqences that are sometimes user activated, such as when the disc was being used in the games. They showed an actual screen used disc on the SciFi Auction show shown on SyFy and one of the auction house members that got the disc for auction personally pressed one of the light activation switches. BTW the suits were velcroed together and the velcro seam was built into one of the channels on the back of the suit so that it would apear like the suit was a seamless unit.where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online "Word to the Motherboard!" - IsoLine |

The glowing ring that goes around the outside of the disc has been officially labeled a "light blade". The blade not damaging the program the disc belongs to is probably an oversight.order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pillwhere to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online

We know that CLU was able to access Sam's and Kevin's disc without injury, but that's because the discs were off.

Well, even though the disc was still active when Tron picked it up, i guess it's because he derezzed the program that used that disc, therefore, it didn't injure him.

I dunno. I can pick up a knife carefully and hold the edge in my palm, but if I threw it at somebody, it'd hurt! (well, it depends on how sharp... but yeah),
I always thought it maybe had something to do with the impact as well. I mean, I can't imagine that if you just touch a program with a disc, they're in much trouble, but if you did it with some force it would be bad news, y'know?
