Hey forum! I'm headed there tonight and letting peeps know in case anyone has Disney passes. You can find me at Flynn's wearing a white identity disk on my back. This is Friday, 4-15, by the way. And yes, if you call me "Sci Fi Chick", I will respond.

It takes me months of planning to get time off work and put the family in the car to take a trip to Disneyland, but I managed to do that a couple of weeks ago. Here's my pics from the trip:

And what kind of EL strip is that? That sucker is even brighter than the disc LED's!

I don't really have much of the creation documented - I was under a time crunch to get everything done in time for my trip. I barely made it - I only finished 2 hours before I had to leave. What little I have is just a few really quick shots of the disc holder as I working on it.
The Jacket itself was just a jacket (non-leather... my wife is forcing me to be cheap here) I got at Old Navy, a single EL strip (from glowhut), some eyelets and a plastic mounting plate on the back, and finally the disc holde (which was the hard/time consuming/expensive part). The disc holder was based on the packaging for the discs. I mounted it on some thick plastic, added a few little detail pieces, made a mold, casted a replica in grey and inserted some rare-earth magnets during the casting process. Finally finished that up with a couple of quick alternating LED lights and a cover for the square indentation in the holder.
