The other day I was thinking about the short clip we saw of Dillinger Jr. and his chat with his dad, who sounded like the Master Control Program now.

Basically they're talking about Sam Flynn returning to take over the company. Jr. says it's not going to alter their plans, and the MCP voice intones that he should be careful, because he's still a "Flynn".

A minor teaser, kinda fun, hints at the nefariousness we all saw coming from DJr. And it sort of connects Dillinger Sr. and the MCP, perhaps making us think they may have fused somehow into a computer system (Dillinger's own experimental attempt at greatness that went terribly wrong).

But let's look at how it might influence the next film:

First, we should assume the plan doesn't involve his taking over Encom. Why?

Encom is a software company, and while its profitable and stable someone like a programmer can't just come along and take over. Someone like Donald Trump could, but not the coder son of a disgraced CEO. Maybe someone outside the company is using Dillinger, but why would he be in contact with his Dad about it?

Second, the plan will probably involve a technological takeover of some sort. At first, I was thinking of a "Hackers"-esque heist film, but why involve the MCP/DSr.? Then it hit me: in my other post I conjectured they would bring back the original tron nemesis, the MCP. What better way to do it if it was Dillinger too? And the plan of the bad guys was some sort of Skynet-like plan to take over all EncomOS computers? Perhaps even the Internet?
