Really cool fan trailer. One thing that I thought of is that this would have to be the Grid from the first Tron, not the second. Not just because of Sark and MCP, but because the Light Cycle was was able to travel off Grid. The ones in the Encom Grid could do that, but not the ones in Flynn's personal Grid.

And the fact that they were able to connect to Encom from the college meas they probably have internet. Which means the Grid has internet. Which opens up an entire world of possibilities.

In Tron 3, I definitely want to return to the old Grid and connect to the internet.

I can see why they're supressing it.
It's good.
I recommend anyone with CAMSTUDIO capture it off that webpage, or better, asap.
Don't think any direct links out of that webpage will work.

I have to disagree with, "the Grid has internet". That's one detail that I think this "trailer" fudged up on majorly. Why? Lisberger, Bailey, and Kosinski repeatedly stated in interviews that the Grid developed on its own like the Galapagos Islands, without an internet connection. They also repeatedly stated and showed that this secret server was only known about by Kevin himself (and maybe Alan, since Flynn had to port Tron over from the old system) - I mean, if it wasn't, then why was it hidden in the basement of Flynn's Arcade, and why doesn't the media peeps who ambush Sam Flynn at the end of, "Tron: The Next Day" know about this secret server??? They don't (and Alan and Roy "RAM" Kleinberg don't know all the details, I suspect) - that's why there's a Flynn Lives movement. In this "trailer" the Woman says specifically that she hacked into ENCOM's server, and you even see the ENCOM label on the diagram she printed out and posted on the wall. '

To me, that means one of two things:
1)Sam may have transferred what was on his flash drive to the ENCOM server (which probably contained all the basic info and code about the Grid), after the end of Tron: Legacy;
or
2)Sam may have added an internet connection (after Tron: Legacy) to his Dad's private server in the basement of Flynn's.

Then again, seeming how Kevin's server was secretive, and how Kevin himself was secretive, I doubt that Sam would have done#2, so I can only reasonably and logically believe what I stated in #1. I have a feeling that Sam is going to merge his Dad's grid with the ENCOM Server in TR3N - in the first film it was called the ENCOM 511; now it's probably called the ENCOM 5110, LOL!!!!!! She was puppeted into downloading that stuff. No one just "get's in" with Encom.
Kevin must've made a mistake way back... Not deleting the MCP. In today's climate the MCP could basically become skynet.
Also, as soon as they started up the bike...whammo... sequence initiated. The Dillinger family is smart

"Lisberger, Bailey, and Kosinski repeatedly stated in interviews that the Grid developed on its own like the Galapagos Islands, without an internet connection."

The boundary between the net & the Grid, had to be in either two places.
The molecular displacement lazer interface, or past the badlands, beyond even Flynn's "47R3SS of Soli7ude."

Also might explain the ISO's, they bridged the gap between the real internet and the Grid, but were too undefined in purpose to act as an active link.
Hence, a reason for Clu to destroy them in order to repurpose them to BECOME the link.

I'm leaning on a few things to draw conclusions.

First thing: Amazing Job! Really really well done, congrats to the people who put it together, they did a fantastic job.

I was all in until I saw the light-cycle leave a trail. I was good with the bike, and I loved the idea of the "She built the laser and the laser built this" because it feels like maker bots in a way and it makes sense if she had a university lab to use. I like the bike but when I saw the trail it was 'too much'. Now I think they could do that, but it was just a tad to much for the trailer.

Liked the whole Sark thing, the way they lit it up making you feel at first it was Tron himself and then the iconic emblem lights up in place of the T and he turns red. I don't mind the helmet projection, might have been better left to the imagination along with the audio cue.

Funny how Disney is reacting to it. I'm sure if it didn't look so damn good they wouldn't bother with it, but this thing looks very professional.

The girl gave me a very Ally Sheedy feel (and look) and fit perfect imho.

Anyone else smile at the use of an Apple II as the control computer. Somehow I don't think it could run the necessary software but it was a very nice nostalgic touch.order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill

Ugh. Lightcycles don't work in the real world! Why would you want it to? It looks great, but WHY?

What they did with Sark and David Warner's face inside the helmet, that was worth watching the whole thing.order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

I just realized, you know how much I said she gave an Alley Sheedy feel in look/acting, she called the guy 'David'.

Can you say Wargames.

So I'm curious now, was Sark on the Encom disks? A backup?

http://www.movieweb.com/movie/tron-legacy/fan-trailer
great link to the film on Movieweb. it says on the page that it was created by Anthony Scott Burns. The quality of the video is very high. It uses a different song in its score than previous uploads. The music is somewhat more subtle- you can hear sound effects and dialog over it better. Also gone is the Disney logo animation and the movie preview's rating warning screen. This time around we see a disclaimer notice that this is a not for profit fan film, and we see end credits naming the writer, director, cast, crew, and production team/effects artists and so on- which reveal that it was created by some very talented film makers in Canada. These differences from other versions of this video could mean it was copied, and re-edited, and we are seeing the original version here, or this is a new re- edit- done in order to clean up the sound and avoid flak from copyright holders. It's a shame this is likely it for "Destiny". It would be interesting to see the story fleshed out into a feature length version.

The makers of this trailer are very talented. It's nearly flawless. The students make for an attractive couple, and their acting is great. Totally believable as stressed out - yet bright, and awkwardly nerdy computer science /engineering students on the verge of a breakthrough or burn out. Maybe these two are members of the "Flynn Lives" 'hacktivist' group?

I didn't care for David's 'Can you send it back?' line. It seemed out of context. Maybe it would have been more clear for him to ask how the laser built the cycle, and she could have something like - "Well, bit by bit- out of thin air- and I do not mean 3d printing a plastic model- this is an actual working and complex motorcycle.- This may sound crazy, but maybe it wasn't built- maybe the thing was sent here from somewhere?"

Then he can ask about sending it back. The conversation might make some more sense that way. - but hes glad to see his missing friend, and she's confused by whats happened while trying to explain the nature of her absence.- so naturally they wouldn't make much sense given how unusual and emotional the moment is. I agree with the notion that she was duped into digitizing by the MCP- just as Sam was duped by Clu.Maybe she has the feeling that something other than her is responsible for this - and that is why she is scared. The way their talk currently plays though, it makes him sound less believable- I think this is the fault of the editor or the writer- not the actor's.

Other wise it was nearly perfect. I liked the wonderful night time shots of the bike whizzing down the streets and throwing a glowing jet wall behind it. - my question is what about motorists crashing into the thing? Wouldn't a big glowing ribbon blocking the street trigger attention from police? Either way those kids are gonna get it from the cops, when Sark 2.0 finds out they stole his ride. - or if Sam or someone from Encom finds out they allowed something to get through to our world from the Grid/ System. Regardless it's a lot of fun. It's just so cool! It might make for an interesting story- So I'd like to see more work from these people- or a fan fic story at least!

Some very ambitious and well made fan films are out there- set mostly in the universes of Star Trek, Star Wars, and Doctor Who. Sadly these projects seldom turn into series or full movies- because making a decent movie is hard work- and these projects require a lot of talented people to come together and volunteer their valuable time to pull it off. That's not easy to do if you are working long hours, taking care of the kids or trying to finish college. - so they tend to split after making them or abandon such projects altogether. This is a very well done effort. without the disclaimer its very easy to confuse it with an actual trailer. I for one was fooled- and thoroughly impressed! Maybe people in the industry will hire some of these folks? This makes for an impressive demo reel for the participants. Whether or not this is the last of this project- I hope I get a chance to sink my teeth into a Tron 3.0- and I hope I do not have to wait another 20 years or so...where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online

hmm correction- they did change the dialog- he doesnt ask her if she can send it back- just if it works. So this must be a newer re edit. Either way I enjoyed it- and like the video quality and the credits.

I don't know about the ISO stuff, but didn't SAM release the OS12 to the net? I thought the "it was all part of the plan" was just an excuse as to why its there. When the corporate guy tried to reveal the OS12 to the world, it just showed Marvin, and it was on the net. I just assumed there was aconnection there but there could be a connection between the internet and the Grid. At LEAST there's a connection between the Grid and the newer Encom server.
EDIT: BTW, when was the internet invented? If i am correct, it should precede me by about 5 or 6 years but i could be WAY off and be thinking of something else. I WOULD have put this edit under the whole post, but because my phone was being stupid it wouldnt let me scroll down all te way, so its going right here.

Back to the main discussion, I think this "trailer" is really well-made! if the lightcycle didn't bereak the laws of....Science (??) then I would probably believe it were real. There is more than one claim out there for who invented the internet. Here's a website that gives some information about it:

http://www.nethistory.info/History%20of%20the%20Internet/origins.html

Back in my younger days the college I attended had an IBM System 36 mainframe complete with dumb terminals then later an AS/400 after I finished. No internet connection was used so it doesn't surprise me about there being no internet connection for "The Grid". We did use BITNET though for intercollegiate dialogue and even live chat.

In any case, yes, the clip is an interesting what-if tidbit. I don't blame Disney for wanting it removed as it has the Disney Digital 3D logo at its conclusion so I'm thinking the filmmakers didn't have permission to use it.

I had no problem with the light cycle movements. Ummm....I don't have much of an idea of what you are talking about in the first paragraph, but ok...

I only watched it wehn it was first released and not since, so i don't think i ever noticed the Disney logos at the end

And I don't have an issue about how the lightcycle moves, because I don't know anything about maeuvering abilities. what I meant by "breaking science" is the light trail. where would it come from? I am not very good at science, and we haven't gone over physics or anything like this yet so I am not entirely sure, but I don't think it can do that.

.....hmmm....by LIGHT trail, i assume that in the grid, its made out of pure light or energy or whatever. Light can't be solid...I don't believe. And I don't think you can SEE any kind of energy.
