Hey guys,
First off, I work as a Digital Imaging Technician on film sets. I get the footage, back it up, perform checksums, and then perform on-set color grading, and I render dailies. I also often set up editorial workflow by synching audio.
Moving around from one place to another on set is cumbersome, even with my mobile cart that everything is mounted on.
My idea.....
What I'm planning on doing will truly be a unique creation. I want to make a Digital Imaging Technician's body suit. It'll have HMD monitor visors, a custom made Powerglove Mouse (
http://www.zerosign.net/index.php/powerglove-mouse/), and my Macbook Pro in a ventilated mesh backpack (the computer has to be on my back--very "Tron"

), with bus-powered hard drives attached to a utility-style belt that I create. Also, a gamer's custom keypad with programmed buttons to use for Final Cut Pro.
No more leaving the work station to run over to 2nd unit to grab footage. On low-budget shows, when I have to work as a 1st or 2nd Camera Assistant, in addition to being the DIT, I will no longer have to leave the entire feature film behind, where A.) I can't check on how my downloads/renders are doing, and B.) Where it can get stolen.
Oh, it'll be RIDICULOUS. But totally awesome. I can't wait.
