Spark - I had a couple of questions for future reference, as we go on with the RP...

...first, I really like the idea for adding access codes/disk conduit linkups to Flynn's disk! That'll help him fight the scavengers as we go along. So, was wondering what the parameters of those upgrades are - i.e. limitations/strengths, meaning does it temporarily bridge the gap between his User permissions in the old 1982 system and his Creator permissions in this system now? (know what I mean, and does that question make sense?).....also,...about the Rinzler/Tron interaction -- from my perspective, the whole discord stems from Tron's code having been glitched and repurposed into Rinzler to begin with, which affects his reactions/logic centers and makes him react strangely/menacingly, right? I see him basically being at war with himself internally, yet attacking outwardly. Then on top of that we have the system's time-loop factor, which makes it logically impossible for Tron and Rinzler to both exist in the same space/time. Which throws the system into instability. That's how I was interpreting it...is that making sense, and in line with what you're thinking?

Spark, excellent insights about Rinzler, and thanks for getting back to me.

TOTALLY does!!! That Rinzler/Tron dynamic is a powerful allegory.

Think it ties into what's in my opinion one of the main moral messages of both Tron and Legacy - "control vs. free will", and the unrest manifested when one of those overpowers the other or tries to? maybe? Plus there's the unrest manifested when free will fights for its right to exist again, as is happening with Tron/Rinzler now. That's my take on it.

Maybe another example of that control vs free will dynamic in Legacy is how sometimes one often overpowers the other even without realizing it, even with the best intentions at the start. ((example - in Legacy we see old Flynn suffering from the naievete of his own previous idealisms...he's learned the hard way that what he once saw as a utopian evolution which was to be the next frontier of mankind - a digital frontier where all thought transfers instantaneously and transforms reality - can instead quickly become a breeding ground for power or control issues to manifest and spiral into a nightmare where free will ceases to exist, .... just like what's happened in the real world for ages and ages throughout history. Everybody wants to rule the world, some with the best of intentions, but, in reality...are any of us qualified? History keeps saying no, but human nature always wants to override that with a yes, and in the Grid we see the struggle between the two illustrated.))

So, anyway, sorry to ramble there, but back to our RP, ... I think we're seeing the slow and steady reparation of the Grid,...as Clu works to rebuild a better system, as he and Flynn bond, as Spark helps them try to stabilize the time/space equilibrium and get everyone back to where they're supposed to be in time, and as everyone bands together to work for a common cause.
Plus now that we're seeing the roots of Tron's struggle for what it is - his code struggling to break free from the Rinzler code - that paves the way for more damage to be healed, more equilibrium restored.

Okay, gonna stop rambling now. Anyway, so all that just to say,... REALLY liking the Tron/Rinzler dynamic we're exploring here. Lookin forward to seeing how that plays out with Clu and Rinzler.
