I have watched Legacy many times and although I have many questions the one I am really stumped on is on the bluray version at about 1:26, rinzler goes somewhere and gets on one knee as well as puts one hand on the floor and small white images pop up. Any one know exactly what he is doing (the name for it)? I assume he is searching for both flynns.

I agree that his tracking functionality should extend to any program in the system. Perhaps he only sees one set of footprints because he was specifically running a trace on Flynn?

I would think he could. After all, your antivirus system keeps track of what's going on everywhere in your machine, right? And Alan even says of Tron, "It finds an illegal process, it shuts it down," which would imply that he always knows what's going on and who's supposed to be there/doing stuff and who's not? (Of course, no doubt Clu would have reduced much of that functionality, or perhaps just changed it for him to be watching out for different "illegal" functions than he originally would have.)

I dunno, I actually get into it a bit in one of my fics (which will get posted here if it ever gets finished *eye roll*). Perhaps he can only track the Creator. Perhaps it's because Flynn was a close friend and he can take advantage of that connection even though he doesn't remember there is one. It makes for interesting speculations.
